Huayra [Official] Pagani Huayra

The Pagani Huayra, named after the Quechua god of wind, Huayra-tata, is the successor to the Pagani Zonda.
Someone went nutts on it:D

the evo video along with this shop have gotten me to warm up to this car. I think viewing it in person it would look a lot better than any of the photo's convey. certain cars with certain shapes and lines don't photograph as well as others, and I think that could very well be the case with this new Pagani. also, I think the wheels look a little cheap and unimaginative for this caliber of car.

It just gets better with every passing day. Just like a Pagani creation ought to be. That brilliant, crazy little Argentinian has done it again. Love the potential for the two-tone paint scheme on the flanks of the car.

EPIC, I really like it :) Can't wait until Hammond or TopGear get
their hands one one :D (congratulations Artist)

Excellent read, thanks for sharing Artist.

Didnt know that the key doubles as a flash storage device. Also looking forward to the final Zonda which Horachio will keep for himself.

I was beginning to at least to not hate it after seeing some of the chops, when I saw this pic. Uggh, truly horrible nose and you can't even see the even more ugly fangs from this angle.

I cannot believe such marvellous engineering is tainted but the dumbest and least practical car key man has ever seen. The lid of that key is begging to either:

1. Fall on the car floor and get stepped on.
2. Be misplaced.
3. Again, see outcome number 1.
4. Be left at home because of the frustration to keep putting the lid on and taking it off.

I have nothing of importance to ad, apart from that I can't access Pagani press page anymore :t-banghea

Aside from that, I completely love this car!
Horacio Pagani is to me what Jean-Michel Basquiat is to Lars Ulrich:bowdown:

Its made out of aluminum.. don't think it will break..
But yes its stupid as you would easily misplace it..
i think all owners will put the lid at home..and keep the key as it is..with half a Huayra on it:D..

One thing i do not like about this car.. and its only 1 thing:
The freaking interface of the multimedia screen, it looks so colorful and cheap..
While in fact its probably very advanced and expensive..
They should change the theme to something dark :t-crazy2:

Other than that.. perfection..:D

^Yes at least like their website or something...The material, aluminum I'm guessing, is a little too shiny for my taste.

^Well thats actually not a big issue.. you can probably get it finished in CF..or brushed aluminum..
Same thing with the interface actually..
i think if you got the money..they can do whatever you want..
probably pain the car in the colour of your palm even:D

So the key is a little silly, but I couldn`t care any less. This is an amazing machine - a machine that in my opinion looks much more fluid than the Zonda.

That was a brilliant read. Carbon Fibre is one helluva drug!

As if composite materials weren't expensive already, Pagani ups the bar with titanium reinforced carbon fibre. Insurance for the car will be insane as spare parts for the car are worth their weight in silver.

We didn’t have room for it in the magazine in the end, but while trying to give you as many details as we could about the new Pagani Huayra, I went to see Xtrac, the firm responsible for its sequential manual gearbox.

Xtrac are legends in the transmission industry. Almost every car on the F1 grid uses its gearbox internals, it’s the exclusive gearbox supplier to the BTCC, cars with its gearboxes and diffs have won everything from Paris Dakar to Le Mans. They’re number one.

Hence why Pagani turned to them in 2008 to develop the gearbox for the Zonda R, and then a little later Pagani and Xtrac hooked up for the C9/Huayra project.

Xtrac is starting to branch out into road car gearboxes and has already developed a six-speed transmission for the Koenigsegg Agera, but the new Pagani uses a seven-speed sequential transverse gearbox with a bespoke casing made from aerospace grade aluminium alloy.

The whole assembly is remarkably compact, the idea being to keep the weight as far forward as possible, thus improving weight distribution and reducing the polar moment of inertia. According to Adrian Moore, Xtrac’s technical director, ‘there are four more main benefits [to the transverse packaging], it allows space for the exhaust, rear crash structure, underfloor diffuser and allows the designers more styling flexibility.’

As yet there’s no word on how fast it’ll change gear, but Xtrac admitted they have altered the gearing to allow the Huayra to hit 60mph in first gear. It will also have an auto function for when the driver prefers to loaf around.

Two cars have been testing with the gearbox since last June and at the end of January testing was being carried out at Nardo to calibrate the gearbox. We’ll let you know as soon as we have hard figures – and of course the all-important performance data.

anyone else notice how the car has matte paint on the sides, while the center from the cockpit to the tail is gloss? Quite odd.

Also, what car that is, next to the poster with the boobs?
