I could easily imagine that they offer both. In Germany a GLE53 and a GLE53 e-performance is on offer. Why not also in the W214?
That would be an interesting thing to do . I doubt MBUSA will offer both. I just want the E53 to get the hybrid setup. Though heavy it should still be a great option. If only the V8 would return across the C/CLE/E board, but it won't. I gotta get over it.

The 63 should be V8 only.
If no V8, no 63. Call it something else.
I think it is a disgrace that AMG call the 4-cylinder a "C63" what it is, they should have called it a C43 E-Performance. The 63 nomenclature belongs to V8 models, the first 6.3 model was a 6.3 V8 anyway, not a 4-cylinder.

Just check this magnificent engine:

Why is the US intro to market taking so long? The 5 has been around for at least a couple of months and if memory serves right, the E was introduced before

they want to keep you on tenterhooks, think that here in Italy when I called the dealership to find out when it was being presented, they answered me after Christmas in the showrooms....

So US will probably be in the spring.. good the 5 will cannibalize some sales; although people are very loyal to their brands… only fools like myself jump brands at will

I’m seeing the 5 on the road now.

I just did a check on the UK Mercedes site and these are the models and specs and prices:

There seems too many optional packages to choose but looks like at least UK have the Exclusive classic grill option and still selling top fuel saving diesels such as the E220d and E450d.

I honestly didn't think this car would turn out so good looking inside and out.

At first I wasnt blown away by this E-class, but now I am really thinking it's one of the best E-class models ever. Definitely on the podium next to the W123 and W124. I cant wait till it comes to South Africa and then I will want to test drive it and compare to my W213.

Six cylinders with over 400 hp feel very on edge… not a fun driving experience. Plus I worry about their longevity. I don’t think they will break 100,000 miles

S500 nor the E53 models feel on edge to me so disagree with that. A Mercedes engine that can’t go 100K miles? They might as hang it up if that were even remotely a possibility.

Come on now. Plenty of 6 cylinders have had more than 400hp in the last 20 years and managed just fine.
Heck even the Mercedes M256 has had 435hp in 53 variants for the last 5 years with no issues at all.
Forget about BMW S-series engines with well over 400hp and 500hp in tuned variants. Not to mention the 2JZ which was good for 1000 hp and the GTR engine as well.

I'm desperately hoping that following the M5 and the RS6/7 Avant being released with V8s that AMG will acquiesce and give us a V8 E63 as a final swan song to the combustion E class. I really am hoping.
