I keep saying it, Mercedes doesn't have to pander on price, but the car has to match the price. If it doesn't and buyers question why a Mercedes costs so much vs instantly seeing why it costs so much, they lose their position and privilege of being able to charge more than the competition. Once that delicate balance is gone it will be all downhill from there. They need to re-focus and remember the time when a new model would debut at a staggering price and buyers didn't even blink because the product justified it. Think R129 500SL in 1990.

And thinking of the W140 introduced in 1991. Much more expensive than W126, but no one bothered.

Mercedes dealer association is warning the management in an urgent letter for the loss of customers, because of the pricing (too high) and the lack of quality (prices up, quality down).

I’m glad thus message is getting through. The pricing for what you get is getting out of control. I still can’t believe the EQE pricing.

The car was larger the life. The 300SE costs more than the previous year 560SEL and you could instantly see why.

In other words, not only here we realize that, everyone sees it and (suffers), except the Mercedes board of directors

Yeahhheee.... dalab always realises Mercedes doesn't do well. Unless the Bimmers, they are all fine. The beauty you are not willing to see.

Mercedes supporters say it and it's okay, I comment on it and it's wrong?

I see reality, I don't see BMW badly in its current practices, sometimes with prices that are a little cheaper or the same, but with a quality highlighted by all, which among many other things is paying off, perception is generated over time, you can retort that?

Yes.

Depends. For example, if you look at the powertrain choices for the new 5 Series and the 7 Series in Germany, it is in my opinion very removed from the propagated "power of choice" mantra by BMW. You can´t get a 8 cylinder in the 7er or a pure 6 cylinder petrol engine(While S-Class comes with plethora I6, V8 options and even with a V12), hell even the new 5er won´t get the 540i here, while the newest E-Class does it with the E450. The 6 cylinders only come as PHEVs on BMW´s side lel. The last gens had many different options such as 730d, 740d, 750d or 530d, 540d,M550d , but nowadays it´s only 740d or 520d O_O.

About quality... I personally find things like crystal glass or the new 5er inside from a quality perspective not that convincing.

It feels like Mercedes prices have gone up a lot over the last 3 years or so and the quality hasn’t improved at all. It feels stupid that the C-class costs over €10k more than the equivalent 3-series BMW and that’s before the discounts - which BMW give and Mercedes doesn’t.

I’ve recently acquired the i4 M50 Beamer - would have got the EQE but the price was €30k more (EQE350 - not the AMG model). EQE43 would have been about €50k more with similar performance.

Mercedes and BMW configurator in Germany:
C220d (197+23 hp) - 52163 euro
320d (190 + 11 hp) - 53900 euro

An i4 is a class down from an EQE. The i5 is the direct competitor and starts from £75,005 in the UK for a eDrive40 M Sport with metallic paint added.

The base spec EQE 350 AMG starts at £77,345 with metallic paint as standard.

You need to spec them like-for-like first. I was comparing the 330e Xdrive to the C300e 4Matic with the options I would have chosen and then the difference was over €10k here in Finland. Maybe the base specs are priced closer to each other and then the options are more expensive for the Merc?

After all, what I know is that I will never buy a Mercedes in Finland

How so? Based on recent models, BMW certainly pays more attention to fit&finish than MB.
Don’t agree and see that different, based on my experiences with the G70.
Obviously I didn’t sit yet in a G60, but seeing it’s interior in the videos, I’d say it worse than that of the W214.
