Does she come with the car? Sold!

Short anecdotal story from the Netherlands.

I do have quite some clients who are true petrol heads. Alas, in the current political status quo in the Netherlands/EU ICE cars are going to be forbidden and EV are forced upon us; talking about sick socialism.
Anyway, what I wanted to say, is that many former ICE guys are now into the EV market. Until now, favorites were Audi GT and Porsche Taycan and some lost souls who bought a Tesla. But the one they’re all, and I mean all (!) are talking about and want to have, is the i7. EQS ?! What’s that?

I find that quite remarkable.

I don't, because these people are going with the flow instead of crying in a corner while refusing to buy another car ever again.

I fully agree about the sick socialism part, and I even think it's wrong and unfair.......but what the f are we going to do about it? ICE development has all but stopped. It's not going to get any better than what we have right now. And indeed, in 2035 car will not be allowed to even put a microgram of CO2 in the atmosphere so we're nearing the end of what we love.

I find this interesting, especially a definition of Socialism.

For my country which is Thailand. I find some of the local people who are so into the B.E.V. expressing their concerns about the rise of CO2 by funnily asking the mainstream automakers (for example: Honda and Toyota) to stop selling Gasoline and Diesel vehicles as soon as possible to save the environment without thinking of any further damages that could possibly affect the whole industry specifically those suppliers who produce the engine parts for so many decades.

Yeah, it’s totally unfair and I personally think 2050 would be an appropriate year for the automakers to stop selling the pure combustion engines rather than phasing (rushing) out at 2035. This is because by that time (late 2040s towards the early 2050s), both Diesel and Gasoline would have been reaching the point of saturation.

BEV is simply a long way off for working properly for many, many businesses since BEV is still flawed in terms of range, charging, charging opportunities and hauling stuff. It's beyond insane to phase out ICE completely. 90% of Europe is not ready for that never mind the rest of the world.

What I found remarkable, is that literally no one is considering the EQS. They‘re eagerly awaiting the new kid on the block.
Not the ICE vs BEV part.

Agreed with a fact that the B.E.V. technology is still a long way to go. Plus my country is currently struggling with the infrastructure for most of the non-capital cities/countrysides unlike Bangkok Metropolitan Area which is fine for the pure electric drivers to find the charging stations.

It is remarcable.
In addition to the fact that it is good news in my book, because I consider word of mouth as the most real sample and reflection on the status of a particular situation, I see that a couple of things can be the cause...

For the cars you mention, that of the "First Luxury SEDAN EV" with which they presented the 7 (and which raise the voices of the defenders of the EQS), it now becomes clear in strategic matters, the well-marked "3 boxes" of the typical big luxury sedan seems to be something that was required and that simply was not there, the i7 is exactly that, being all the fastbacks rather niche except for the Porsche by philosophy.

The other thing is definitely the car itself, with its unique arguments in radical exterior and interior design and sometimes underestimated details such as the rear screen and all its novelties.

What I found remarkable, is that literally no one is considering the EQS. They‘re eagerly awaiting the new kid on the block.
Not the ICE vs BEV part.
Great

Tomorrow, the bitter embargo is supposed to end.

Hopefully tonight in this part of the world they will release some of the tests.
