I wonder why Mercedes is being so funny acting and coy about this car? Where is the press release and tech details. It won't interfere with the EQS buzz. It's time for the S63/S7 also.

I suspect perhaps since the base S-class hasn't hit all markets, including NA, that's why we haven't seen a public debut of the AMG's. Plus I think we'll probably see the GT73 first before we see the S73.

I really would like to pop in the local M-B dealer and check out the new S. It's always an occasion.

They really need a regular length Maybach S680 for people who want a regular sized S-Class with a V12 IMO. That would sell better than the old S600.

That would be an excellent prospect for markets that don't necessarily rely on cheuffers. A few thousand more sales per annum easily.

Should become available to order on May 18 according to MB Passion. They'll drive one in early June. :)

I like it worlds better than the GLS Maybach. I would like to see a black chrome option for the bright work. A V12 and 4Matic finally, yet the best application for it, an AMG S65 is gone. Oh well. There should be a regular LWB length S680 for those who want the V12 and not the bigger back seat.

Colour - obsidian black metallic / selenite gray metallic
Wheel - 21" Maybach forged wheels in multi-spoke design
Interior - Exclusive Nappa leather Maybach crystal white / silver gray pearl
Trim - Trim elements designo piano lacquer, black flowing lines

PS: even the download pic is without background

That’s beautiful! Could you show us in the U.S. a Black exterior/black interior version? Same exact wheels though. I wish we could build one already out here on our site! Our site sucks lol

Finally you can at least get rid of the big black shiny plastic part on the steering wheel. If you order the Wood steering wheel, this area is also done in the trim element.
I do not understand the aberration for the glossy black that complements the modernity of the attractive design of that steering wheel and with wood there It doesn't look bad either but in the circumference it does not look good at all, like some steering wheels from the 80 '

That’s very good.

The issue I have with gloss black is not aesthetic, it's maintenance. It more easily shows dust/dirt than any other trim element. The gloss plastics they are now using have become quite durable and scratch resistant however.

Piano black on the other hand is a whole other ball game. A nightmare to keep clean, completely inappropriate in terms of durability and barely discernible from the gloss plastics.

Looks awesome with the wood finally ...

I must say that the Maybach configurator seems disappointing with the choices of colours and interior leather and trims, It doesnt seem special enough with not much difference compared to a normal S-class.

This Rubelite Red with 21inch multispokes looks noble with blackened lower intakes

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
