Is it only me who feel that 223 Maybach is beat for two tone than mono colour? Look very ordinary here
That actually looks pretty good, but still not that back. Yuck.
That said, I think Mercedes should think about a regular (long) length S680 Maybach for those who want the luxury, but not the bigger big seat.

Bring back the S600 with special orders only.

Seems like Audi is preparing Maybach rival with Horch edition of A8. Is BMW have any plan??

Oh my good, yeah the trend is clearly to bring back the old luxury brands who has been dead for a century....
If BMW wants to jump on this trend; I don’t think they have ever been connected to luxury brands as MB and Audi, have they?

Why would they do this? I mean they got Bentley, a full spec lwb A8 is already a great car, and if you have money then a flying spur makes sense. Something between the two? I don’t think it’s a good idea, it would look very ugly compared to the Maybach where the S class was designed in mind with the Maybach variant and the also compared to the Flying Spur, I think it’s a huge waste

Rolls Royce sound familiar?

I do not know if BMW needs to do it, although the Maybach sub brand is a great success on paper for Mercedes, a very good marketing idea with a more than good cost benefit.
In my opinion Alpina is a bit of that, but it is too exclusive (1,700 units per year) and does not meet all the parameters in terms of avoiding the sporty and being only super-luxury, on the other hand Alpina in its favor has to handle many models of the line from the "cheap" 3 series to the 7 series.
To be more like Maybach in sales I think that more support and money from BMW and having it more involved as an industrial partner would help.
The other option I see is "BMW by RR" or something like "Zenith" "Collection", "Sensual Celestial", I think it's something to scratch your head, but what could happen with the new generation.

Something like this, remember the Mini RR:

When I saw this supposed A7 LWB for, it occurred to me that it could be (like the A8), part of this new co-branding "Horch" seeing it does not seem to be an A7 in any way but it looks like another totally different model (in my opinion it does not look bad at all), more in the line of the 8GC or the CLS ...

IMO looks great, even though A7 loses purpose with that shape.

Well I was refearing to a connection with a luxury brand long time ago, but of course they have Rolls-Royce today - I actually didn’t think of this...?

Yeah I saw that V12 badge too. Wonder when we'll get the official info. The V12 should be in a GLS 680 also.

M

Those numbers can’t be right. Only a handful oh RR models sold. 3 Ghosts??? 10 regular Phantoms? This is for the entire year?? Where is the Flying Spur? Do the Chinese not like Rolls Royce? I fully expect the new Maybach to easily outsell the old one. The new one is even more Chinese market focused.

M
The USA is still Rolls-Royce's biggest market. China is Mercedes' biggest market by far. Don't forget that taxes on imported vehicles in China are utterly outrageous - so the Maybach is an attractive choice (relatively speaking) from an economical perspective.

Two-Tone on an Audi just looks naff.

In china Maybach comes in different engine variants & that means there is different price range too..

Competent ride and handling are a must no matter how large the car is.

Big business in China. I read either 500 or 1500 a month were being sold?

M

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
