G-Class [Official] Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, colloquially known as the G-Wagon or G-Wagen (as an abbreviation of Geländewagen), is a four-wheel drive luxury SUV manufactured by Magna Steyr (formerly Steyr-Daimler-Puch) in Graz, Styria, Austria, and sold by Mercedes-Benz. Originally developed as a military off-roader, later more luxurious models were added to the line. In certain markets, it was sold under the Puch name as Puch G until 2000.
Great with the roof down, pretty damned ugly with the roof up.

I absolutely adore the G range, and I like this crazy thing too, but the roof looks pretty bad.

I want a G650 Maybach 4x4!!!!!

Looking forward to the Mercedes-Maybach Tourismo...

Seriously though... nothing against the G Class, but Mercedes are taking the p*** with this one.

Mercedes will do whatever they want to do with the G and Maybach. What is your problem?

I feel that nowadays the G class is MB highest money maker, since R&D for the G class ended very long time ago (only minor changes each year) and they continue to sell big numbers of this car despite its high price tag, in KSA we have couple of 6X6 running around with 500K $ price tag, in addition to 4X4 squared with 250K $.

Easy there captain serious. Simply pointing out that if they can justify a Maybach G-Class Landaulet, they could probably justify a Maybach bus.... I mean, if you want to travel in luxury the options a bus platform would give you would be immense! ;)

Like I say, nothing against the G, it's one of my favourite Mercs.. However... I think they're taking the p*** because they're asking half a million Euros for a tarted up variant of an existing platform built on the same production line as the Mini Paceman was and the BMW 5 series will be -- this doesn't represent uncompromising luxury to me, it comes off as a massively expensive parts bin special.... the margins on this must be gargantuan.

What a total abomination, a complete identity crisis in itself , wished they had kept the Maybach name away from it....Officially one of my least favorite cars

The Maybach name doesn't suit the personality of this car at all. What were they thinking... Mercedes-Benz G class is good enough.

Its F-ken fantastic! Not the most practical car but what a show piece for the rich, out of this world looks. I would love to be a passenger in the back seat!

I'm sure there must be at least two people in the world who would need something like this. :D

About color, SHMEE said : " it very much changes depending on the light. Officially it is called Mystic Blue, but in the environment in which I was with it, the appearance was green more than blue."
"It's called Mystic Blue, but give it some yellow sunset and put it in the game reserve and trust me it looks green".
So it's designo paint, just probably slightly reminds on "kallaitgrün metallic".

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
