It's a beautiful car no doubt. I even like the rear lights, they just fit IMO. The only issue is that screen behind the steering wheel, for me.

They highlight any pedestrians or other obstacles at night via the use of "spot lights" in the case of the digital light, and augmented reality in the HUD.
How do you know that? It doesn't seem that way:

At 0:52 there's a cyclist somewhere in front and it's not highlighted at all..

Indeed, the more I see it the more I like it. Not only that stuck screen behind the looks lazy, I don't get the reason for such thick bezels, mobile phones and even tv's don't have them anymore.

It may be that it only triggers if it thinks there is a risk of colliding with the cyclist?

Maybe I've imagined the augmented reality warning because in the video below (at 0:37) which shows the Digital Light highlighting a pedestrian, they use red lines surrounding the pedestrian to show how the lights work. But I'm sure I've seen a video where the HUD shows a pedestrian.

I think the shape of the tail lights works much better on the S than on the CLS.

And I was just thinking how well that full-length flank crease just under the sideglass sills would work on the C257 CLS. I really regret the impending demise of the CLS. A facelift consisting of said flank crease and shallower, wider full width taillamps (EQ-style) and some new rim and color options would present an automobile with an immaculate exterior visual.

They are very ugly on both, actually.

I do not even want to post here in this thread. Why am I here? The most boring S class in the history of cars.

Who cares about one cyclist? The system works good enough, one kill per journey should be acceptable.

And I was just thinking well it would work without that cheap and fugly hood shutline on an S class (of all cars!!!).

It's weird that they're not offering cars for test drives by journalists. Why the wait until december? The past generations were available immediately after the launch if I remember correctly. It's as if they're trying to hide something.

Probably trying to hide the car itself due to how ugly it is.

That is indeed one of the main issues with the interior but how can anyone argue that the rear lights fit is beyond me. Something like the s class coupe taillights or the amg gt 4 door taillights would work just fine, but this triangular shape is just awful and doesn’t flow at all.
