Man what a video, especially the night driving shots. I’m staring to love the rear!
Man,the cover of that US spec car got me,I expected to see more of it in the video...I mean it looks so imposing and beautiful on the cover.

Flawless as expected. Long live the King!

The red interior is a bit too loud for my taste. I think it's better suited in an S coupe rather than the sedan. I hope we see a dark blue leather option as well as a dark brown and burgundy or oxblood option.

Regarding the trim, I hope there's a wood option that uninterrupted by those metal striation. A large slab-looking trim of a matte finished open-pore wood would look almost funiture-like in this interior.

will the Maybach versions get a different front-end design?
Most likely it will since the S63 will get the panamericana grille.

They really had a chance to bring back the two spoke steering wheel from the prefacelift W222 and they ruined it.
They also got rid of the center storage cover that was hinged on both sides.

I am still going to hold off on my take on the car's design, but there's one element that is bugging me that I'm a bit surprised no one has mentioned as of yet.....

....and that's the ghastly shutline that goes from the rear wheel to the taillight. For a tapered, sporty yet elegant rear side profile, it's like a big scar.

Doesn't looks like a new S Class, but like a facelift with exterior door handles and interior copied from Tesla.

Other than size, it looks indistinguishable from CLA, and looks like it costs 50k (30k being for CLA, so 40k for CLS). This new S Class just does not looks like a flagship. In fact no current Mercedes looks like a flagship, except the forever coming Project One.

The Star has faded into obscurity.

Decent looking car - inoffensive design, inside and out.

Likes:
• Amazing interior materials and finish
• Augmented Reality interface inside of the HUD looks really good, best example I've seen so far.
• Iterative update on mood lighting and using it for warnings is neat.
• 4D Sound system

Dislike:
• user interface / infotainment - it is a unacceptable for a car in 2020 to have a stuttering and lagging UI on your promotional video. S Class has always been know to be Mercedes Tour de force from a technology standpoint but this car doesn't really seem to move the needle forward in terms of new groundbreaking technology. Its just another "me too" car, very iterative.
Everyone collectively pissed on Tesla for having a giant screen and the "cheapness" associated with it - 9 years later, this execution is worse off (user interface).
Steering wheel buttons and volume controls are just like the Golf 8 - unacceptable on an iconic car such as the golf but cutting cost on an S class? Disaster
Even Tesla has physical buttons on their steering wheels for even their cheapest car. The only silver lining here is that hopefully the interface can be improved with OTA updates but those buttons on the steering

Absolutely SUBLIME in every way. I expected it to be good, but not this good.

Has anyone come across photos showing the configuration of the cupholders, storage etc. under the transmission tunnel cover? The tray has disappeared this generation, so I'm wondering what have they done to compensate.

Most likely it will since the S63 will get the panamericana grille.

I tried 2 different versions of the panamericana grill for a render, and personally, I prefer an AMG version which actually uses the regular grill on the press photos, similar to what the current S AMG has.
