S-Class W223 [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223)

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013.

The 222 looks more S-Class, it looks more expensive, aristocratic. The 223 looks more sporty and with the rear too much like an A8/7er (because of their horizontal 2-piece rear lights).

One of if not the most evolutionary S-Class generation transitions ever. Pertaining to exterior design, of course.

I would love to see what W222 owners have to say about W223.

And I say this , because I really like the W223 interior. And W222 is not as perfect as many of you think. It had issues also (design wise)

My W222 does a whistle when I open 1cm of any front window. My dash is misaligned with the door trim ( from the pictures I see that W223 is not) . The front chairs squeak . The rear windows + rear boot buttons are broken ( I see that W223 do not have classic buttons anymore for this ) .

And other small quirks that are really annoying from time to time . In 7 years , I got used to most , but I am looking forward to change it with W223.

I think the W116 > W126 takes that cake but certainly more evolutionary than the last few. I love how imposing the front end is on the W223 though.

The W126 appears to me as being a forerunner of the wedged, longer bonnetted, cabin back design paradigm. Arguably a bit less frivolous with its' "Sacco Plank" flank protection and plastic front and rear skirts. Regardless-both the W116 as well as W126 were highly influential automobiles that served as frames of reference for many later large automobiles. They were both miles ahead of their relative competition-perhaps in a manner that has not been replicated since.

Both yes and no. The tail lights are not quintessentially Mercedes like the vertical lights on the W222. I think the same of the slim headlights. However I welcome the change.

Two generations with 8 to 10 years of difference between them and with the same wheels, other times

Which do you prefer? W222 or W223? I’m torn :). The W222 still looks boss. Will wait to pass judgement once I see the W223 IRL

I prefer the W221 . Joking aside, I would have to wait to see the 223 at the dealership to make a final judgement, but in pictures and video it shows as stunning. The 222 still looks amazing and I actually prefer the pre face lifted version. The 223 just has such a high-tech futuristic look to it that I really like and (for right now) wouldn’t be confused with a C-Class.
