No, that is fairly accurate, I moved here from Australia in my 20s, so I am playing catch up. Most people here have at least 3 languages under their belt.

Was I naive to believe that almost all Swiss had a mastery of German, French and Italian from the very start ?

Italian is relatively rare, at least in the German part, in Grisons and in the French part Italian is indeed very common.

I learned German,English and French, 3 languages are indeed normal.

Not learning Italian in the school is something I do regret a little bit.

But If you know French, learning Italian isn’t to difficult, may be I’ll add it eventually.

So, I imagine that Schwyzerdütsch is your first language in Switzerland.

Geez, even as a native German speaker, I have to REALLY intensively concentrate in order to understand the basic content of conversations in Schwyzerdütsch.

It is in the German part, and there are even different Schwyzerdütsch, Basle is different to Lucerne and If you’re in Berne good luck trying to understand what he says.

Zurich is again a different story however If you’re from basle or Lucerne you can understand it very well.

In Grisons there’s a 4th language, called Romansh, that’s a completely different animal.

Provided that BRABUS doesn't go too overboard (which it certainly does on occasion), it can present some damn elegant vehicles. In terms of eye appeal, they beat much of the tacky Maybach stuff by miles.

I think AMG (engine tuning and wheel/spoiler design) and Maybach (interior materials and craftmanship) can learn a thing or 2 from Brabus how to modify the S-class to make it an immensely more appealing luxury car. I really like the Brabus touch.

I love the Designo options where the steering wheel matches the seats. Sucks, however, because I also like the Carbon accents in the steering wheel that come as an option, and that is deleted if one chooses Designo.

I am so curious what the S 63 E PERFORMANCE is to own long term for reliability.

It’s a lovely detail that makes the car feel a bit less like “My auntie has the same steering wheel in her 2022 A180”
