Is low end luxury the same as dry water?
I dunno. Its an oxymoron, but that is what they're marketed as.

I guess you could say they're "premium" low-end cars.

But either way is, Mercedes has to span a rather large breadth of car from A class to Maybach.

Is that what would happen at your local MB dealer?

Would the person even know what Manufaktur is? Would they care?

They have salespeople that are certified for Maybach and AMG that would be handling the Manufaktur clients. And yes, they do typically have an upleveled experience for those customers (at least in the U.S.) including presenting the car at your home should you choose.

Oh yes. Those exist. Whether they have them at every dealer or whether your experience will be VIP from first point of contact when stepping into a dealer ia nother matter.
I think you're making a joke?
No. Today, car line ups, engines and specs are way more extensive than 10 years ago. It's difficult to keep track of all of them. Furthermore, the priority of some sales people is to sell cars that are on the forecourt. The job is easier for Rolls Royce and Aston sales people. They are fewer cars and specs to keep track of in their head and the majority of cars are made to order.

The Daimler-Benz AG of the mid-1970s was an entirely different company than today's Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Dr. Joachim Zahn was highly accomplished and considered one of the most competent corporate CEOs in the world. His financial acumen was especially remarkable.

Now, there's Ola Källenius.

What the hell is a "four-hundred fifty S"? Make it stop.

M
I always wondered why Mercedes didn't call it a 650SEL or 700SEL to follow their engine numbering badges of all their cars at that time. It was the same with the 450SLC 5.0 when later it changed to the 500SLC after the 450SLC was dropped.

I started learning French, and I am absolutely kicking myself because I seem to have found myself in a group where everyone speaks italian. And it is the nicest language.

Was I naive to believe that almost all Swiss had a mastery of German, French and Italian from the very start ?

No, that is fairly accurate, I moved here from Australia in my 20s, so I am playing catch up. Most people here have at least 3 languages under their belt.

So, I imagine that Schwyzerdütsch is your first language in Switzerland.

Geez, even as a native German speaker, I have to REALLY intensively concentrate in order to understand the basic content of conversations in Schwyzerdütsch.
