Between the new S, S Coupe and the SL all selling at the same time, Mercedes should finally be able to start printing money.

Hi,

I asked the question about structural changes some time earlier...

... I got at least a part of my questions answered:

- The body structure was heavily (!) modified
- The front part is largely from alumin(i)um.
- There are structural advances in almost every part by using "one higher grade than before for each part"
- weight saving on the body is 50+ kg (110pounds+)
- They use composite structures (foam inlays, hybrids of alumin(i)um and steel etc)

Design goal was a greater stiffness (40kN now, 27kN before) and a stronger body.

Great thing! They should tell the people about it, I'm not the only one who's thinking about all that "going light" stuff...

There is one question that has remained unanswered for me:

Where...Is...Wolfgang?:D

To be fair, LaArtist has done more than great job enhancing this thred(y)

@offtopic

I was just checking some interior photos of some other car. All I can say is:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

This looks so... 90s? Although I'm still not a big fan of two screens, the S Class simply annihilated A8...

Sorry for the off, but I couldn't resist it.

Now, don't you think the wheel is a bit decentralized? I hate to see they allowed themselves such imperfection. W221 also had same issue. However, new Benzes (that are and will be based on MFA and MRA platforms) won't have that problem.

But why are all Benzes like this? It's definitely a bit annoying:(
If you have the muhneeey they can paint it in the color of the shit you took this morning.

Designo - Making dreams reality :D
haha, that's what I wanted to hear:D. BTW thanks for all the nice pictures:)

In light of the platform discussion another point worth mentioning is that the S-class employs the same sound system technology as the SL, using the crossmember as a resonance chamber for the bass speaker located within it. I wonder if this could be incorporated into an old platform?

Also, the article I read mentions that the body structure is larger, lighter yet stronger and specifically engineered for hybrid systems.

In the end, I don't care what platform they used - whether a new one, or enhanced one - as long as it is unique to the S Class. Others (apart from Mulsanne and Phantom) can only dream of bespokeness that S Class has.

Thanks, mate... so in the end it's the color I already fell in love with
I configured my S500 AMG-Pack Designo interior at 160.000EUR... yeah it's fully decked :D
Damn that's expensive but I really want my S-Class to have everything... as it deserves it.
The S63 will most probably include most of the options I want and will be better value for money... in my case.
The new metal-wood shines so good when you opt for the black Designo interior(it's like a jewel)... and it just might be my choice... yet the interior you chose is so tempting too... damn it's so hard but that's making it SO great
I will post some comparo pics between the combos I'm considering when I have some time... but they are all so great... it almost makes you want to buy a few cars to have them all... damn :D

EDIT: You crazy boy... I see that you've just posted my other choice... the Standard one with exactly the same rims you chose... maybe in Black tho
