S-Class W222 [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).
I need pics of the metallized wood like Mario needs his mushrooms. Please!
There must be more around...

Spanish journalist who attended the presentation has confirmed there is a 3 spoke steering wheel comming for the AMG versions.

All things considered...

I'm happy for Mercedes-Benz. This car brings me back faith that MB is getting back to its roots, and knows exactly what it is doing. I can't wait for S Coupe, the GLA, the CLA SB, the C... This thread can easily be named: The Shape of Things to Come.

This is interesting. I wonder if it will still be bespoke, like it always was for an S Class.

Say what you want about the purple/red ambient lighting, but I can't imagine how amazing that would be to look at at night. Sure, it's not necessarily practical, but C'MON!

That metallized wood is so right on so many levels. I don't think I've ever marvelled at an interior with so much intensity than I have with this one. The way it looks on the inside is just sublime.

Yeah, it's in the press release too. I read it somewhere in the official info. Well I am not entirely sure it was the official press coming from MB but I did read that.

@mini_cooper4 I have no idea sorry

Does the car use proper RGB LED so the user can have infinite color choices?

Now, don't you think the wheel is a bit decentralized? I hate to see they allowed themselves such imperfection. W221 also had same issue. However, new Benzes (that are and will be based on MFA and MRA platforms) won't have that problem.

I'm pretty sure you can choose any color you want now. Before it was limited to three colors only. I wasn't sure about the ones around the instrument cluster and COMAND screen, but it looks like they're behind the screens. And I'm pretty sure you can adjust the brightness or turn it off completely.

Sovereign's Questionnaire

Q. How are you doing
A. Not good, im worried about my purpose in life once we have seen all that it has to offer.

Q. How do you rate this car design wise
A.One can only look in awe, and every time you look at it new details pop up that makes it even better. 10/10

Q. What are the best and worst aspects of its exterior design
A. Best aspect is the profile, headlights, grill and rear bootlid.
Worst are the boring exhausts on the 500 and 400

Q. Is it the best looking modern S class.
A. Along with the W126 i think it is, exterior wise i think the W220 was also near the W126 and W222, but the interior design along with the quality issues made it fall short.

Q. And the interior
A. To be honest there was something about the interior of the W221 that didn't sit right with me, it was not elegant enough.
But with this Mercedes has out done themselves, i have no complaints what so ever.

Q. Thankyou for the time
A. My pleasure.

WOW Artist, that last combo is nothing but amazing!!

To be honest, I expect the very first change on this car to be the exhaust pipes to be like the ones on the LCI E-Class.

Perhaps with the new engines and 9G-Tronic come the new exhausts too.

Those exhausts are already on this car, but only for the 350. Check out my previous configuration.
