It's crying out for square exhausts like the E63

The facelift looks great but that S65 really is horrible IMO. The last two pics make it look great but the first one is horrible. That diffuser just looks like it doesn't belong there and that dent next to the rear wheels just doesn't work.

The S600 gets the 7G-Tronic gearbox but not the S65.

I suppose it costs too much to engineer the 7G-Tronic gearbox for the small-volume S65.

But, good effort by Mercedes nonetheless.

Wow, I can`t believe that..
It`s going to make the S600 really fast and more efficient.

Are we sure that isn't a misprint? I've seen things like that before, like the CLK having ABC on such data sheets. If the 7G has been modified for use in the S600 then why didn't they make a big deal out of it in the press release? Surely this is front-page news for the 7G to have been re-engineered to handle the V12 output.

Just checked and YES, it is a MISPRINT:

Nevertheless, I would love to see your face: Waiting for an additional two gear changes - and nothing happens!

But in my opinion the 5 speed automatic is best here. Wouldn't like to know, how often the 7G-Tronic would change gears…you couldn't really use the torque…then you have the same problem like with the Q7 V12 TDI! Instead of using the massive torque, the car always change gear while acceleration…

Leaked: 2010 Mercedes-Benz S63 and S65 AMG




After the quiet introduction of the facelifted 2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class last week, which didn’t even make a New York International Auto Show

appearance, images have surfaced on the Web of the high-performance AMG-badged variants, S63 and S65.

Though no confirmed details have emerged from Stuttgart, expect a modest increase in power for both the S63’s naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V8 and the S65’s 6.0-liter turbocharged V12.
The images reveal a number of interior and exterior updates that also make an appearance in the standard 2010 S-Class, including LED lamps up front and out back, as well as a new steering wheel. The appearance of carbon fiber trim is a new feature on these photos, which are of a German-specification S63 and S65. We aren’t sure if the racy trim will make it to North American models, where burled or piano-style wood are the current options.
Expect more details to be forthcoming from the German automaker before the revised S63 and S65 go on sale this fall.

I doubt they will increase the S65 power. They really don't need to considering no luxury car in Germany can match it's power.

If they do...that will be great as well. I would like to see them make the S65 more distinctive then the S63 AMG other then the V12 badge and rims.

Both are already available in german configurator and the power stays the same as before!!
