I hope we get to see at least the GLE53 soon, possibly LA. Then again the GLE450 will be making it's U.S. debut at LA.

I assume you saw it at the Paris show

Besides looking huge what were your impressions and how you found the interior if you had time to see it..

Yes, Paris.

On the outside I was very impressed. Looked good. Solid whilst also sporty. I have a memory of flared wheelarches at the rear. The only question mark for me was the rear. It's a big car, and the rear light clusters were proportional with the car...until the lights were turned on. Because the LED strips were not at the outer-most edge of the light clusters, they looked small, and therefore gave an illusion that the clusters themselves were smaller, and therefore undersized compared to the rest of the car.

The interior looked OK but maybe "cluttered". The grab bars are BIG and seem to get in the way of the touchpad. It was only a two minute sit in the car, however.

I've come to accept those fake HVAC vents, but those grab handles seem pointless, particularly for the driver. I'd hope if the driver needs to grab something, I'd hope it'd be the steering wheel.

Need to see the AMG Pack in that nice blue from the A35. Would also be great to see more of the black and dark blue ones.

You can accessorise it by tieing an hermes scarf on to it.

The just too obvious....

The Recessed Fender Flares and The Grab Handles....LAZY! And shamefull.

Those grab handles are for 3 reasons :):

1) For the active woman who wants to do yoga in her GLE and can use the grab handles to help her get her legs over her head
2) For the sporty Male who wants to do bicep curls before he goes on a date with the active woman who does the yoga
3) To test the build quality of the center console and do a shake test like Thomas does in Autogefuhl.

There were reports in thr spyshot thread that Customer feedback led them to bring back the grab handles remeber Mercedes had them in the two previous generations only the last one slipped it..

While the exterior of both cars look amazing, the interior of the Porsche is on an entire different league in terms of design and style.

I think they both are in the same ugly league. But the Cayenne wins in being least ugly. Also on the outside of both cars.

You're just getting into the vanilla chocolate debate.
I don't care for the exterior styling on the Cayenne. But, i also realize that's my taste. I don't like the grab handles on either car. They are a distraction. Otherwise, I have little complaint on the Mercedes interior. The screen displays and voice activation blow away the Porsche. Time will tell how the MBUX stacks up against Porches new system.

Looks great just in standard body trim, with a nice wheel upgrade.
The fact that the Porsche and BMW folks are missing is this is the first GLE/ML to really provide a viable alternative to those two. The GLE had been rock steady. The bar setter in terms of safety and it's been incredibly reliable as well. But, it has really lacked in terms of machismo. Even the sport packages weren't all that bold. So, Unless someone was willing to pay the big bucks for an AMG, you were going to have a pretty bland vehicle. These pics show that a GLE with a nice rim is going to have that edge it's lacked in previous designs.
