[Spy shots] 2027 Mercedes-Benz "Baby G-Class"

This could be a super hit, especially here in sweden where many like my colleagues and me have company leasing included in our employe contracts. Me current lease ends early 2027 and i have about 850 000 SEK (80 000 euro) to spend. I was until now looking at Audi Q6, Mercedes GLC Electric or the Volvo XC60 but Baby G wagon is making me feel somehting i havent felt since i got my first Defender 10 years ago.

Do you belive the size will be about the same as above models or even bigger?
Do you really think the reported listprice of around 65 000 euro is likely?
I feel it to be strange if the baby g wagon is cheaper/same price as the GLC Electric.

Maybe I missed something.

Is this a body on frame vehicle ?
There's nothing about that, that looks body on frame. I can almost bet you its on the MMA platform. Basically, the boxy shape with an external spare. Mercedes is really getting silly.

I think he's being smart. If you want to make a cheap car that looks like a G-Class, this is what you have to do. A shared platform and low cost. Nobody's going to care about its off-road capabilities. Even the big G-Class doesn't leave the city, but it has to stay true to its origins.

Nothing but a cash grab model with no enthusiasm whatsoever, just a boxier GLB. Wasn’t it supposed to be body on frame?

So don't get excited about anything BMW makes, because it's just a standard model range shaped for the purpose of making money. Even their limited-production vehicles were just redesigns of existing models in their product range (3.0 CSL, Skytop, etc.). I felt the need to say this because you evaluate cars based on your dreams, not on the target audience they appeal to. Using a ladder chassis in a C-segment car would be a stupid choice. People don't care about that. That's why the 1 Series was converted from RWD to FWD. It's probably not exciting at all

Why are you so pressed? And why are you still bringing BMW into this sh*t? What does 1er, or even the f*cking CSL and Skytop has to do with this? And above all, why are you acting like a Mercedes lawyer and defend every damn action they’re taking? Lmao. I truly don’t get it.
Also, weren’t you guys saying it was gonna be based on a unique body on frame chassis, and defending it wasn’t a “cash grab” model based on an already existing platform, yet apparently it’s the exact opposite of that, and all of a sudden “it doesn’t make sense to have a body on frame chassis on a C-Segment SUV”. Make it make sense, cause you’re not making any.

I have to speak this way because, in your opinion, every innovation Mercedes makes is an example of boredom and ordinariness.

I really don't understand any of this before the car has been shown, we don't know anything official yet and this cash grab shit is really getting tiring. Why not wait until the car is actually shown before blowing up the thread?

M

Nope, you can clearly see me praising Merc’s if they’re truly great, which was the case with the latest VLE, E-Class etc. Plus, these are my own opinions anyway, I don’t have to find something “innovative” if there’s nothing innovative about it. Who cares about what I think?
