M-Class (W166/C292) [Official] Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé (C292)

The Mercedes-Benz W166 is the third generation M-Class ("ML") range of mid-size luxury SUVs. Facelifted versions renamed to GLE and GLE Coupé. Model codes: W166 (SUV), C292 (SUV coupé). Production: July 2011–2019. Model years: 2012–2019.
This white profile picture is the most atrocious thing I have seen in a long while. The snout looks fit for a pig, and it is the source of a lot of my dissatisfaction with the GLE.

But shots like these, and it's not about the wheel size at all, remind me of what I appreciated about the car when it was fully camouflaged. Yes it is a "purposeless" toy, but it looks like a handsome monster, a Hulk rather than a Frankenstein. I hope that in real life the pig like nose doesn't spoil the party.

This is why German brands get to charge crazy premium for simple things, people buy hook line and sinker into marketing crap about why their over engineered solutions are a necessity.

And then, when gets broke, complain about the "the myth of german cars reliability" and "next time I'll buy a Lexus"

It looks so good that i'm actually planing on switching from my GL to GLE coupe...stupid move?...i know... but it looks so nice that i can't help it

There are hundreds of other car brands with rear view camera that gets used in rain and snow. No one else needs these Goldberg-ian contraptions? All it takes is a sec to wipe it with your finger. And if you are unfortunate enough to live in a sucky location where things are frozen over, I doubt the flipping logo will work either.

@Sunny

I read about Cadillac's approach on the rear view cameras, yesterday. Quoting Autoblog:

That camera even addresses one of the big annoyances of today's camera systems, by adding a hydrophobic coating to keep the camera lens clear.

Drive published some estimated performance numbers. :)

Mercedes-Benz is yet to make official any performance or fuel consumption claims for any of its GLE Coupe models, although the GLE450 AMG Sport is said to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in under six seconds and reach a top speed limited to 250km/h, while returning combined cycle consumption close to 8.5L/100km/h for CO2 emission under the 200g/km threshold. Towing capacity, meanwhile, is put at 3500kg.

The ML400 currently does 0-100km/h in 6.1sec and ML500 in 5.6sec as per Mercedes claims. I reckon the GLE450 AMG Sport will probably do 5.8sec or less as it is fitted with the quicker shifting 9G Tronic if I am correct.

It will be interesting to compare (performance & price & styling wise) this model to X6 xDrive35i with M Performance kit (which includes 21" lighter bi-color wheels, 19" brakes, 20hp power & 50Nm torque upgrade (= 326hp & 450Nm)... resulting in 0-100kmh time of 5.9s etc).
