2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe

Next year Mercedes-Benz will be introducing the GLE-Class Coupe. What’s that, you say? Well, the GLE name means that it is the midsize SUV, currently known as the M-Class, and the coupe designation is like the 4-door coupe styling in the CLS-Class and the CLA-Class.

All of the details are now in the Future Vehicles Section at MBUSA.com. It is scheduled to arrive in the US in August of 2015.

  • 362-hp biturbo V6 engine

Rodney reports on benzworld: (y)

I saw four of these tonight with Michigan manufacturer plates. I guess they were taking them to the Vance, AL factory for test. They look nothing like the GLA. These things are HUGE! I tried taking a pic, but it was dark and in traffic - this is the best I could do:

I kinda like the 63 amg front bumper from the spyshots but for now I'll reserve my comment. However the standard vs the 450 amg, tennmb put it nicely, it looks too plain for me especially as soom as you look at the X6. The standard looks much better imo. I still want to see the 450 amg in another color because I'm one of those who thought the color doesn't do it any justice at all. overall i like what I see but kind of dissapointed by the 450 amg so the standard on GLE coupe has kind of replaced what you'll expect from and amg sport version(not full amg if you know what I mean).

I guess it's just matter of taste because for me it's exactly what I'm looking in bumper (or all around sporty look)..clean design straight lines without too much soft curves. The quality on the standard one looks pretty bad too. agree with you on the color though...hard to tell how its gonna look with neutral colors.

It looks far far better in those last photos compared to any of the previous press shots.

U think? :D

Every car looks good in pics taken in a studio with controlled lighting by a very professional photograph @ very low ISO ... And even better in heavily photoshopped pics. Look at the contrast & color saturation settings in those pics! Completely surreal! Those images almost look like being HDRs. Not to mention the angles ... Really?!

Pics can lie a lot (showing thing better or worse they really are). The only real meter is to see the car IRL ... with your own eyes.

Yes I get that. But these photos appear far less produced than official press shots. And the vehicle looks better in these shots.

It looks great under controlled lighting. I'm now running out of patients to see the entire lineup.

MB Passion writes besides the GLE 450 4MATIC AMG Coupe the GLE 63 4MATIC Coupe may also celebrate its world premiere in Detroit, maybe with the V8 from the AMG GT. (y)
