EQS [Official] Mercedes-Benz EQS

The Mercedes-Benz EQS (V297) is a battery electric full-size luxury liftback car produced by Mercedes-Benz Group and part of the Mercedes-Benz EQ family. It was released in September 2021 in Germany and the fourth quarter of 2021 in the United States.
I just don't feel it has the presence of an S-Class. I really wanted to love it when it came out and thought I would warm up to it, but the opposite has happened.

I hear you man. I mean, what cars have the imposing presence of an S Class anyway?

I think for me it'll change as even more of them are specified and delivered. And test driven and reviewed. Although I've probably missed quite alot because the supercar/hypercar class has been busy.

It's why I always read as much as I can, but rarely interject on these kind of cars as you guys know way more than me.

I did so here on this occasion because I had a good look at one, and I liked it!🙂

Well I've not seen a Lucid Air, and don't think will for awhile and the only thing on my radar when I'm out and about are Tesla's and them Ionic's and MG's that seem to be everywhere. Only one of those is a four door saloon and there's absolutely zero comparisons. But I appreciate others won't agree. That's fine.🙂
The Lucid looks good from the front, from the back it looks like some kind of shit Saab convertible from 20 years ago, sitting in the back of one was entirely unimpressive for a car of its price (in the UK).

The current S-class only has any presence if you're an S-Class fan looking out for one, nothing about it draws the eye unless you're already susceptible to it. In the distance it could be a C or an E, and in the peripheral vision at a Taxi rank it could be a C or an E. This may be a positive factor for some people, it may be a negative, but an M-sport G70 is unlike anything else on the road.

Very true, I saw a new all black S-Class go by at half speed in the night illuminated by street lights, and as hard as I tried I couldn't figure out if it was an E or an S, I decided that it was an S a while later for the color (exclusive to her here).

I pride myself on being an "expert" with a clinical eye guessing any car from three blocks away, either I lost the touch or they look a lot alike

I confirm that the EQS looks just as bland and boring in person. The S-class, on the other hand, is certainly 'present' and as regal as ever (on the outside). I also think the current 5er packs as much visual weight in a smaller package.

What I don't understand about the S-classes that I see is the paint quality. Orange-peeling is quite visible to anyone paying attention and influences one's estimation of the car's worth and pedigree.

The orange peel on my SL is heinous. It's not as bad on my partner's AMG EQS but both pale in comparison to any other car I own.

It amazes me to read that and the others, from the factory like this?
Isn't it worth complaining?

The point of making BMW fans happy was that the G70 looked different. Different but ugly. The car has no attractive features. It is behind the EQS and S class in terms of technology. It's the same in terms of performance. BMW does not have a different issue to bring forward. The G11 was an ordinary looking car, but that was no problem.

I'll watch them, slightly later.

Not the point of the company, just one of them

I know that your assessments are consciously or unconsciously baseless, even so...After trying it, no one has said that, on the contrary, the perception is the opposite of what you say. Does not have attractive functions? that's just trolling

They found out that it's a problem, the biggest one, which is sales, it's not a problem if you play it safe to be second.

When the G70 was introduced, many missing features from the S-class were revealed. This has been much discussed. There are no false rumors here. I think you quickly forgot. The only thing the G70 brings is the ceiling TV. @dalab

Unbelievably, in a recent test between the EQS 53 and the i7, the EQS finally appeared, dare I say, a better overall design. The AMG touches helped, as did the White matte paint with black accents. And BMW, despite a great looking matte black, could not be helped from the grotesque cartoonish hyper-square looks.
