Yup, thats what I’m saying the whole timeIt looks way better like this, with the lower parts painted. It somehow gives it some "optical weight" that is otherwise missing.

trollAnyone still defending the i7? Which is more unique and future-proof?
Ok, let me give you my point over "why I like i7 over EQS" :Anyone still defending the i7? Which is more unique and future-proof?

That's right, even against the S-Class, which nobody can deny how beautiful it is, but it cannot be denied that it is very similar to the W222, which is also very similar to its predecessor, I said it when it came out, beautiful but it seems to me that it will get bored before its time, the 7 series uses that and other things in its favor.Ok, let me give you my point over "why I like i7 over EQS" :
I had an order for a Tesla X Plaid. I was called 2-3-4 weeks ago that the car is almost ready , but I now don't want it anymore , because I feel it's a little to late ( more than 1 and a half year of waiting )
I've been to the i7 launch a few days ago , and I like it a lot. So much , that I will cancel my Tesla order and follow a i7 for sale in the next months.
Why? Because is quirky and different. BMW moved away from their traditional design . And I respect that.
Is it beautiful ? This is debatable , of course.
I'm sick and tired of this "let's play safe , but make as much cost cutting as possible" as MB does lately . And you can see all these in the numbers posted last year ( record numbers for net income) And I , as an ex W222 owner and daily driver for 7 years , I feel that MB just went lazy as heck with W223 and EQS. Little to few new things.
And I bet that the new 7 will get over W223/EQS in sales number with this new gen ( after all these years of MB being the king )
It's just my personal take on EQS. I want an EV , but i7 is better for me right now.
I also think so, if not with this one with which one....And I bet that the new 7 will get over W223/EQS in sales number with this new gen ( after all these years of MB being the king )

Honestly , not many BMW had aged very well. But given the fact that I liked and still like E65 , years after it's release , it's ok for me.I saw the new i7 when I picked up the MINI on Monday, it's a massive chunk of a car, IMO about as polarising as the Bangle E65 was, I don't think it will age well.
Most definitely not with that snowplow nose. The interior will be even worse as it ages.I saw the new i7 when I picked up the MINI on Monday, it's a massive chunk of a car, IMO about as polarising as the Bangle E65 was, I don't think it will age well.
Exactly what’s going through my mind, seeing pictures of it. Especially the mounted screen and the glossy black plastic parts. To me both already look dated. Such a pity.….The interior will be even worse as it ages.

^Have to agree with you both on this.
The 7er looks like it is based on past luxury cars to begin with. It is totally lacking the Old-World flair that is built into a Rolls-Royce or Bentley.
When the Old World themes are designed with artisan-like care and craftmanship the design never ages.
Meanwhile, the EQS has a silly $576.00 yearly subscription for its 10-degree rear-wheel steering feature.
In its home country of Germany, the upcoming electric Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan comes standard with a 4.5-degree range rear-wheel steering system and an optional 10-degree upgrade. According to German car publication Auto Motor und Sport and brought to our attention via Autoblog, that full 10 degrees of rear steer will be sold as a subscription-style service for the European equivalent of about $576 per year, at least in that country.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the EU has clamped down on these subscription based fees and said they aren't allowed.
I would use regeneration around town, but probably less on highway, particularly with passengers. It’s very annoying for them. You do develop a good feeling for it, with time though.Several levels of regeneration braking are available, Rolf. Only used one during my drive and it came over to me as rather harsh (the slowing down effect) therefore rather effective of course. It’s just a different way of driving, but I’m sure one gets the hang of it after some time and it’s becoming a challenge to regenerate the battery as far as possible and using the classic brakes as less as possible.
