Don't you see that the resounding failure in total sales for Q1 2024 comes mostly from their designs, the poor quality they are showing off, and management errors?

That's a FL here and in China, changing your entire grill is not very "light" so to speak, it happens that it doesn't improve one bit

Ok guys , let's get a thing straight:

1. The term "facelift" is long dead. NO manufacturer uses it in any press or website or official writing.

Maybe because "update" sounds better . Only us , mild-enthusiasts still use it

Morons use the project code ( For ex: Tesla fanboys using Highland for the refreshed Model 3 )

If this car gives a press release , and so much media , it's a facelift for me.

If a car is "just updated" , it should be done silently , and maybe even free of charge for old users , IMO.

2. Of course this car is not a proper facelift

It's just a money grab.

This car is a massive s**t dump. They needed to keep the car sort of afloat.

Just look at this scenario: You have a pile of EQS unsold . And you need to cut the prices.

You do it , because you can't have any other way to sell them .

But this car is 2 years old. Future sales will be slashed , because people know they can get them at a huge discount. You can get a 1 year old car with 20-30k km for almost half the price. Bad business.

What do you do ? Change the grill , the software/firmware , and now you can sell "the old cars" at a discount , and the new ones will keep the current prices.

It looks better than before, but that isn't saying much. Besides the overall shape, the front/side were the body panels meet is the worst aspect of the entire car. It still looks like that car has been in wreck and wasn't repaired properly.

I read it, makes no sense. They're updating a car to make it sell better. That is their business. That is every car company's business. The car being a failure or whatever is another issue. Updating a car to help it in the market is not a money grab, it's called the car business. Uh, the S_Class has received a quick refresh before to help it in the market, the W140. Either way it doesn't have anything to do with money grab. Otherwise ever single car company is doing a money grab.

I don't understand why you're so incensed at the idea that they would try to advertise a poorly selling product with a mild update in an attempt to get it to sell better.

That's the whole point of the update. To try and get more people to buy it.
Whether or not its successful is not down to us motoring enthusiasts who argue about it on an internet forum.
