I'm curious if any of you have any deeper information, but I talked to clients at work who told me that Mercedes has a lot of pressure on electric cars that are not going.
They sell cars at the lowest margin just to sell because there is very little interest.

I'm a bit confused by the Mercedes Agency equal price treatment - it seems they are getting round it by registering them or passing them off as demonstrators with extremely low mileage. Lots of SL demonstrators - but what caught my eye - I received a email the other day from a car discount website
- An EQE 300 Sport, £114k list price, MB online showroom £1k discount. Just out of curiosity and after seeing 24% discount on the German online showroom for the EQE (jesMB or MB Passion articles), I thought i'd compare to the UK site. The UK leasing price for 3 years was £800/month on the MB Showroom. The special offer company email was £377/month, on same deposit terms and mileage - half price.... The German site including deposit was 40k euros over 3 years. The UK site including the deposit was almost 50% more....so a bit all over the place. Germany has much better discounts at the moment yet certain UK websites appear to be able to send out extremely cheap offers on specific models which are half the price of the UK official website...Whilst few and far between, it seems there are discrepancies/trying to offload certain models without letting everyone know?

I saw a white one today on the road by itself in what was a beautiful display of sunlight. Massive car and it looks like the front end has been ill repaired after an accident. The shape is just plain wrong. What a missed and wasted opportunity. Why are first generation vehicles a struggle for Mercedes?

May or may not be relevant, but the UK's ZEV Mandate is now in effect. I've not read the final bill, but as far as I know the £15,000 fine per car for not meeting ZEV sales targets is still in place. That sales target for 2024 is 22% of a manufacturers sales, but increases every year, it's quite the motivation for manufacturers to offload EV's on the cheap to stay on that trajectory. Mercedes's 2023 BEV share was reportedly 22.5%, they have to work hard to get that up as next year it will be 28%.

Mercedes have simplified the line up in the UK for the EQS Saloon.

Entry AMG line has been dropped so the new entry line is the AMG Line Premium starting at £112,610.

Luxury line trim has changed to Business Class.

Still just one motor choice, the EQS 450+

AMG 53 remains unchanged from what I can see

I remember the shock when the last gen XJ was introduced, I really hated that thing.

But now I wish the EQS would have that shape. Yet the upscaled greenhouse gives no chance to fix that with a facelift, nor overhangs will bring some balance.

The XJ has always been a stunner in my eyes. It's a real modern classic.
The XJR was always a special, athletic limo. Imagine one of those with a Benz V12 under the bonnet.

If they could clean up the front end where the body panels collide that make it look like the car has been in an accident, it would do wonders for the car. Also a significant boost in the EV tech and most importantly fit and finish and materials need to be addressed. Then find a way to either lower the price or include more features for the same price. If this car had been done right, it would have been a big hit because Mercedes still has that pull with consumers and as I keep saying, once they lose that, they're toast.

A new one every day
Will they return the extra money to those who bought it?
Would they have explained to Mercedes that your reputation lies in trust?

"The fact that this was planned quite differently is shown by the recently presented special model of the “Limited Edition” of the A-Class, which was first published in advance - even if only accidentally - as the “Final Edition” and only later unnamed.}"

I don't know why you posted this here, but well...

I really wish they would get rid of the horrible black plastic shiny grill, it makes the car look so cheap at the front. They need to make the front similar to the new E-class and add more chrome and traditional Mercedes grill

Extended A-class production means Mercedes wants to keep a budget friendly car in the lineup after all.

No one would've received their models until April. They could certainly cancel their order if they felt the need.

Yes, damage control must start somewhere.

Informative, well I suppose that if it didn't have the plus price "last special limited version" nothing happens, although I think it must be the opposite and many will return it

If it's a limited run, people will probs keep it. They need to be in the market for one to begin with, but who knows tbh.
