Must say...I rather like it.

I can appreciate the nonconvoluted sideglass graphic, devoid of excessive partitioning pegs/clefts. Those are simply eyesores and unfortunately featured on the GLC EQ. BMW, Volvo and Audi have done this with more stylistic acumen.

The flanks are nicely surfaced aka "clean". Wheelarch surfacing, including the openings, are attractive and do not present that odd, annoying "tricycle" image of the MMA CLA.

And yes, I'll chime in with those who anticipate an overall length of 4850-60 mm.

You gotta stop acting ignorant . It says “Car Of the Year”, elsewhere it says “Europe Car of the Year”. By September there’ll be another car of the year & you’ll be out here writing paragraphs again😂.
Pretty sure if those titles were given to GLC, or any other Mercedes in that matter, you guys wouldn’t shut up about it.

Agree and thats why I wrote “its among …. the most beautiful car concepts ever”, I doubt there could be any single work that can claim that title, but from Mercedes this is up there with the Maybach 6 and S coupe concepts.
I misread that part. Agree %100.

Agreed, it’s turning out to be much better than expected. And not gonne lie, having a length of 4850 mm for a C-Class is kinda wild. Cars are getting unnecessarily big. That used to be E-Class length.

Let's see if explaining it slowly helps.

"Car of the Year" - European jury
"World Car of the Year" - World jury
It's not that hard to understand, read the Mercedes link posted by yourself; who's the ignorant one?

The realism of these renders is impressive; if I'd seen them six months ago, I wouldn't have doubted they were real. Conceptually, I see along the lines of the "Passat" by Mercedes—a long car that doesn't fit neatly into any one category, that could be a good thing in the Chinese market. As for the design, I'll wait to see the official photos, since for now I feel you've been generous with the result.

When the CLA won it's award Leylandi posted about it in this thread, it got 5 Like, 2 Winner, 2 Wow and 1 Haha reactions. Rolf posted about it in the CLA thread, which got 4 Like, and 2 Winner reactions. I don't recall any Mercedes fans pointing out that it didn't really matter.

Just an observation.

Same happens on both sides Mercedes and BMW it's normal fanboy stuff from all of us

What surprises me is you are quick to comment on any similar type thing in a MB side but never BMW.. you are a Mod as far as I am aware

As a moderator it's not fair

Why? There's absolutely nothing stopping any other member from posting exactly what I did - other than lack of effort. I didn't attack anyone, I didn't state my opinion on the matter, I simply offered a fact based observation, based on information any registered member can see, that was relevant to an on going discussion. You do not have to be a moderator to do that, no moderator action or tools are required to do so. If you saw the same thing or similar in BMW threads and thought it was wrong, but couldn't be bothered to research and state such an observation yourself, that's entirely on you - I'm not here to make your point for you.

Excuse me, but I am not quite sure why you are quoting my comment. It is nothing more than an unoffensive albeit for the most part subjective opinion on a design rendering of a soon to be officially presented automobile.

Am I missing something ?

Our family owned a 1975 W116 Mercedes 350SE when I was a kid and I remember that car was large and it is 4960mm long. A 4850mm C-class in my honest opinion is a bit too big for this Compact class, its longer than a W211 E-class (4818mm) and only 18mm shorter than the W212 E-class (4868mm).

This is what i noticed :
C-class is now E-class sized
E-class is now S-class sized
S-class hasn’t grew much.

So i think the CLA & A-class sedan should now switch to longitudinal engine setup & become the new C-class, bringing back W201 memories✅
