Totally unimaginative design for a Mercedes. I really hope they get the next generation of EVs design right. So far it ranges from ugly to totally forgettable.

Problem is, what to do next? With brands like MB or BMW which have based a large part of their identity on their grille, the transition to EV is going to be tough, as these cars need no grille.

We have seen with the EQXX Concept how an MB would look with no grille. The design could pass as any other car brand out there. The EQXX with minimum changes could totally pass as a VW EV concept IMO.

So Jeep, Ford and GM have heard of this neat invention called Power running boards, but Mercedes has not?

Already saw two just-sold EQS SUVs on the road. That took me by surprise as I didn't know they had been released for sale this week. Bizarre it's not updated on the MBUSA website. The EQB has been on the roads here in the U.S. for a week and there's no pricing for that on the website either. Shame.

That is crazy. MBUSA is so poorly run, especially their website.

No pricing for the new GLC in the UK eventhough reviews have been published :cautious:

How did the ones you saw look on the road ?

It doesn't have the upright presence of a GLE/GLS, full stop. It does look aerodynamic and expensive. This is my 3rd time seeing it in person and I do believe it avoids looking like an egg but definitely takes on a crossover shape.

To me, if you take the overall shape (and none of the details) of the iX and enlarge it you'll have a good idea of what shape the EQS SUV cuts on the road. Here's the two side by side courtesy of Carscoops:
