This looks great, especially in that gray color. Easily the most successful EQ design.



The running boards are there to mask the visual height of the battery pack. More decoration than anything.

according to the Autocar article the running boards are optional, when installed they improve the airflow around the sides of the vehicle.

I sure hope the Maybach version of this impresses with a large back seat. This will be Mercedes' only way to compete with the i7 in the electric realm from a back seat experience standpoint.

I find the rear end okay. Not particularly exciting, but certainly acceptable. Then again, I can't really get very excited about elevated ride height vehicles in general. Save maybe the new Lotus Eletre, which I find absolutely fascinating.

I was thinking the same thing, but it's a styling trick and the result of an EV platform, but I don't like it either. A EQS should look a lot more commanding and bolder. This looks like a bigger GLA as you say.

I can think of other more appropriate terms, shy, timorous, lukewarm, the appearance is "likeable" yes, and that so sparing term says it all, or by comparison with the sedan that it is not...?

I put the official video, one day and the next and on both occasions I fell asleep, the rear is the most boring and without personality that I have seen in years, but the SUV is not ugly, on the contrary, but it is half invisible, cold chest

The interior still seems very good to me, I don't know if it will be overwhelming over time or if it is practical due to the inclination of the instruments, but in photos it is definitely groundbreaking and interesting, everything that is not the exterior, even from the outside I dare to to say that the sedan is more "interesting" out of joke is so ugly and weird that I will at least look at it when passing by, but this SUV is like one more of the bunch

That's all the ambient light you need, with the endless tasteful possibilities (as pictured) offered by such a screen, the colored hoses are superfluous.
