I pretty much do that.

On a serious note, there has certainly been a decline in build quality over at Mercedes Benz. Finish is fine, in fact it's very good, but when you start poking and prodding you notice the solidity of the previous generation of cars is missing. My mum's car now has 27,000 KM's and doesn't rattle or squeak, touch wood, but the perception of rock solid build that her W204 had is missing. The veneers feel thin and the module with the NAV and RADIO buttons has awful feeling buttons with no dampening and in fact the entire wood surround creaks horribly when you press any of these buttons. It grates me to such an extent I avoid using these button. If you prod the wood veneer covering the centre console it feels brittle and makes a sound to match. Place some light pressure on the dash mounted circular air vents and they too will let out a creak. There is a shiny element of black trim that borders the entire centre console and carries on down towards the transmission tunnel to enhance the 'floating' effect of the console and there is actually about 3-4mm of play in that trim that I have noticed on numerous dealership cars as well.

Thank god non of this is evident on Dad's S-class and my only gripe there is the hollow feeling door panels when you tap on them. But in all honesty it's not something you notice on a daily basis and the rest of the car looks beautifully finished and tightly built. The only quality g...

the Edition 60 is similar to the Exclusive but adds 19-inch six-spoke alloys, macchiato beige and saddle brown designo Nappa leather upholstery, a Nappa leather-wrapped dashboard (Artico faux leather on other models) and designo lined piano black interior trim. There’s also Edition 60 badging on the front fenders and centre console, plus a gloss white key and an exclusive appreciation plaque from Royal Selangor.

SALES RELEASE FOR AMENDMENT 17/2 OF THE E CLASS LIMOUSINE AND T MODEL

The sales release for the 2017/2 (MY 808 + 058) year, which will be produced from the beginning of December 2017, is now available for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class of the 213 and 238 series. In addition to the elimination of the optical differentiation of the PLUG-IN variant of the E Class as sedan, there are 3 new equipment options.

Series 213
A new AMG decorative trim element "glass fiber silver matt" is available for 2017/2 of the E-Class of the 213 series. In addition, the pre-installation for the CD drive is now available from the factory, as was often requested. Equally new is the ENERGIZING comfort control (code P72) for the E-Class, which was already known from the S-Class of the 222 series.

The CD drive is available as a retrofit for vehicles as from the year 17/1 onwards. An update is not possible for COMAND systems before NTG 5.5. The drive can already be ordered under item number A 222 820 6306 (available from the end of October 2017).

Further changes for the E-Class in the 2017/2 year:

• Separate heated armrests
• Expansion of the functions in the combi-instrument of the plug-in hybrid motorization (display with electric drive driven distance from reset with deactivation
• Extended display in combination instrument for hitch (display correctly snapping)
• E 350 e: Now with "EQ Power" badge on the mudguards
• E 350 e: Discontinued "PLUG IN HYBRID" on mudguards and booth space, omission of the accent rings in the headlights (with ILS system) and the absence of the blue brake calipers at the front.

Do you have any idea when the new I6 Diesel engine will be available in the W213/S213? Only with the facelift?
I am struggling if I should sell my S212 E350 Diesel as I have a good deal for a A6 Competition.

S212 is just the perfect for the family space wise but cannot help myself I am in love the with current A6 Avant.
530d is nice as well but the BMW dealerships in my region are a nightmare - don't need private customers as they are doing good fleet business.

Appreciate your help for the decision.

Hi Christoph, rumor has it, it will come not later than june/july 2018, but can be ordered on an earlier date.

Hi from what I have heard or read it will be able to order by around march depending on region ...Apparently it's a very refined engine and top MPG..

If you enjoyed your previous E this new one is a few steps ahead in most ways and the E estate looks a beauty I seen a few in UK ..I loved a silver greyish colour I saw with AMG pack was a beauty.

Honestly, as much as I enjoyed the practicality of my E I never really got used to the interiour. The W213 estate is beautiful from the front but I just don't feel it's taillights. Still needs to grow on me maybe.

The interior you mean you didn't like the W212 or you mean the new one.

I mean that I don‘t really like the Interieur of the W212. Also the ride was pretty poor even with airmatic. However I haven‘t driven the W213 yet.

My local Sales guy told me the I6 Diesel Sound be delayed and will only be available with the LCI W213
