E-Class W213 [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213

The W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, sold from 2016 as a 2017 model. It succeeded the W212/S212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. The high-performance Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63S versions of the W213 have been available as well from 2016 (as a 2017 model), and these are the only versions with V8 engines.

How tall is the person? It looks cramped but either he has long legs or the pillow is very short

3. If the phone box is on the transmission tunnel afore of the command dial, where have the cup holders gone? This is potentially a MAJOR issue for many markets. It bothers me a lot that's for sure. Where does my flat white go?

I believe the cupholders are covered by the black trim and can be accessed by pushing in on it, like the C Class.

I am an ardent MB fan but I have to be honest here, I'm not completely sold on the design of luxury grill variant. The bumper design on it is not just right, looks disjoint, may be it will look better in real life but I have to wait for that. Then again if this is base spec version I'm alright with it because it look better than base C. Whereas the Sport grill with AMG trim looks more coherent and I really like it.

But that interior though. Wohaa!!!!

I love it love it and love it ...I would buy inr hopefully by 2017 end or 2018 early not sure classic grill or sports but initially i wanted the classic but more isee the sports with that grey i just love it.

Yes, but it appears that when the wireless phone charging option is selected, the cupholders are deleted and that is where the 'phone box' is installed. As shown at 1:25 on this video:

Ah im sadly not convinced

i cant deal with those headlights, or actually the graphics. they give the car a soft and kind appearence. i like my benzes to be imposing, this is very much the exact opposite.. it looks gentle.

but i must say that from some angles it looks pretty mean, i think this is one of those must see irl cases.

everything else is super, but the graphics of the headlights are irking the f out of me.. and spoiling the whole party.

I think, for the first time in a long time, that this is an E-Class that is very hard to criticise. Ol' Lozenge Lights never looked better; the proportions are perfect to a fault and the interior - when objectively appraised, leaving personal preferences aside, is exquisite. It's an extremely impressive new model by all accounts. Yes, some will argue about the same-sausage-russian-doll stigma but the E in E-Class should always stand for Elegance - and it does so here, consummately.

5. The weight savings are simply not enough. I fear the 5 series will hit the E majorly on this front, especially with the flow on impact weight savings will have on performance, fuel consumption, handling and even ride..

I don't have much fear here. On Car and Driver's scale, the 750i xdrive (remember they're all long wheelbase in the US) weighed 4883 pounds. Compare this to a RWD S550 that came in at 4791 pounds, also on C&D's scale. The 4-matic system weighs under 200lbs so we see that they're comparable in weight.

I will concede that this 750i was loaded to the gills, but given this scenario I don't think the BMW will weigh more than 200lbs less than this E-class in US spec. The BMW's weight advantage will show up dynamically but won't be a skull crusher.

They've only announced the 4 cylinder turbo with more engine announcements later. That makes me think maybe Inline 6s are being worked on, they could've easily announced the E400 using the current TTV6 from the C450.

I really like this car! My only issue at first was the headlights, but they're growing on me. I just wish they somehow made them look 'simpler', and not so fuzzy. But seeing live photos helped, and I just like this car more and more.

Only thing I don't like now is the slight "dropping" line. In my opinion, they should've kept it more straight towards the rear end, something there looks out of place from the 3/4 view. Looks clean though, I'll give them that. Maybe it'll grow on me. But for now.. not so sure if I like it.

All in all though, I think this might be the best designed E ever.

7. The lack of wood trim availability on the transmissions tunnel trim plate is a big drawback. The shiny black finish will be a maintenance nightmare...dust, fingerprints, micro scratches etc.

Do you know why MB decided to leave out the black ash wood, for example? Looks a million times better than the shiny black imo.

Good looking family of cars. The S Cabrio and E-Class would be the perfect garage. S65 Cabrio or a S63 130 Edition Cabrio and a E400.

Never in the history of GCF has an official release so trounced the leak in every possible way. Wow, breathtaking.
Seems as if MB 'leaked' the worst shots just to lower expectations, then blow us out of the water with the official release, lol, but I'm not a conspiracy theorist.
I take back all the $#># I said earlier when the leaks came out, effing love it.

Yes something up with the engine lineup. For the U.S. there is only the E300 so far, even though there is a E400 being shown on the floor. Since the E300 goes on sale in summer maybe by fall we'll get the new I6 engines in a new E350 and E450 AMG Sport with 325hp and 440hp respectively. That would be so perfect.

That's the only logical explanation as to why they would only announce the 4 cylinder turbo at launch when the TT V6 already exists in the line up. And who knows what is going to happen regarding the 450 AMG Sport models, seems like MB is interested in renaming those models x43 AMGs. Could there be a E43 AMG in the works to slot above the E400 and below the E63?

I think those inline 6 engines are still some ways off. Don't see them materialising this year - or even next year for that matter.

I'm talking specifically about the U.S. engine lineup. The E300 is a official for the U.S. but no other engines, yet. That is why I'm thinking that the I6 could arrive in the fall. I know the E400 will be sold imediately elswhere.
