A f'ing 4 pot diesel! Horrible!!!!! All around! Tractor stuff in a luxury car, in 2021. LOL! What sane person on the face of this planet is going to buy a 4 cylinder diesel in 2021? I mean that seriously!

It sucks for sure that beautifully refined and sounding six cylinders and 8 cylinder engined cars are a dying breed. I am not a fan of the industry-changing many of them to 4-cylinders but this is the way of the world at the moment. The environmental junkies are kings at the moment. Its this or electric cars, make your choice lol

Took delivery and here are some quick notes.

Since I need to take it easy the first 1,500 km, I was stuck in comfort mode and will be for quite some time.

The moment you drive off, you get to feel the weight of the steering wheel and the MCT transmission mechanical noise upto 40 km/h while it up-shifts vs standard 9G on the E450, which was super smooth as butter which I kind of miss or maybe because I'm still going through the break-in procedure with the engine/transmission/brakes/tires etc.. and everything kind of feels too tight ?

The brakes bite a lot harder than my E450 with a slight tap (Steels). I'm glad I didn't bother choosing Carbon Ceramics.

Cruising on the highway with 4 cylinders deactivated, I was seeing 120 km/h come up much faster than my E450 with 6 cylinders and I was hardly even trying to accelerate reminding myself it's still a brand new car

Big changes with infotainment system + 360 Cam which is awesome, I'm still in learning mode, trying to memorize all the buttons/settings and displays.

All USB ports are replaced with USB-C, the adapters included helped me connect my USB/MP3.

Seats are a bit stiff, but I'm still going through the adjusting period and keep on lowering them more and more, which felt tight and nice in the corners.

The car is super quite in comfort mode and you can fly under the radar, as if it were a standard E-Class. I haven't tried to activate the exhaust button yet. Saving the best for last 1,500km+

For my liking, the facelifted E63 looks significantly better than the pre-facelift. The latter was just one boring looking car compared to its rivals.

I think the E63 in particular looks better post facelift. Looks nice and aggressive from the front.

Soup's facelifted white E63 absolutely nails the luxury German muscle saloon brief in the best way possible. I love the black trim against the white paintwork - frikken Stormtrooper spec! Definitely better than the pre-facelift. Can't find fault.

Only thing they ruined in the facelift is the standard headlights. Taillight look perfect on the facelifted E.

Mercedes could bring an even more powerful E-Class with hybrid drive

Patents suggest that Mercedes is planning an even more powerful E-Class. The E 73 e could come as a plug-in hybrid with the drive of the GT 73 e.
Mercedes-AMG seems to be working on a new top model of the E-Class : the E 73. An indication of this is that the brand name has been protected in the USA, as Carbuzz reports. At the German patent office , this even happened at the end of 2020, but updates were made again at the beginning of March 2021.

This indicates that Mercedes wants to use the plug-in hybrid drive of the GT 73 e , which has not yet been presented , for the sports variant of the E-Class. In terms of performance, it would easily knock the current top model E 63 S with 612 hp from the throne. Thanks to the interplay of the V8 turbo and electric motor, the hybrid should generate around 800 hp . With the E 73 e, it should be a little less to ensure the respectful distance. However, those who have now become prudish have to be patient. The new, most powerful E-Class is not expected before 2022 .
