E-Class (W213/C238/A238) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 Facelift


The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. It succeeded the W212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models (C238/A238) share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. Production: February 2016–2023. Model years: 2017–2023.
The new spec E300 d will make the E350 d superfluous as it has only 5kw less power (195 vs 200) and 50nm less (550 vs 600) from the 2.0 inline 4 engine but has the benefit of ISG motor of 15kw EQ Boost so should be just as quick or even quicker due to the lighter weight but maybe sacrificing some refinement. The main benefit will be reduced consumption and emissions.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mercedes will replace the 350d engine in GLE/GLS and CLS with this inline 4 in the future.

PRICE OF THE SPECIAL MODEL “DAS TAXI” AS E 300 de REDUCED BY € 2,000

For the plug-in hybrid variant of the E 300 de in the taxi variant, Mercedes-Benz surprisingly reduced the prices on October 23, 2020 - for both the sedan and the T-model by 2,000 euros net each.

E 300 de special model "The Taxi"

For the E 300 de as a special model “Das Taxi” with 9G-TRONIC with 194 PS / 143 kW, the new price of 46,395.00 euros without VAT or 53,818.20 euros including 16% VAT has been in effect since last Friday. For the T model as E 300 de “Das Taxi”, the new basic price is now 48,495.00 euros or 56,254.20 euros with 16% VAT.

Price reduction of 2,000 euros net

The basic price for the special model in the E 300 de variant has been reduced in the net price by 2,000 euros, whereas the basic price before that was 48,395.00 euros and 50,495.00 euros net. All other prototype prices as the special model “Das Taxi”, however, remain the same in price.

The special model “Das Taxi ” basically includes these additional features:

It is unfortunate that MB Australia decided not to offer the E 450 locally in Australia anymore, for people wanting a 6 cylinder E class, you will need to jump straight to the E 53.

After a long battle with my dealer (since 2018), I finally managed to squeeze myself in and secure a slot for a MY21 E-Class with the required options.

I will trade-in my current car once the 2021 shows up.

The options are almost identical to my current ride.

Delivery March/April 2021.
 
Confirmed today, Production date - JAN/2021.

No carbon fibre interior trim? Also your thoughts on the bucket seats? For me I can't sit on them for 45 min without my lower back killing me

The E450 is a great car that delivers (Comfort + Power on Demand) it's just that my heart has been with the E63 since day 1.

I wanted to secure the E450 before the W213 gets discontinued / facelift and I don't get my hands on an E63. Then you have the downsize in engines and slowly switching to Mild Hybrids & EV.

RE: CF Trim & bucket seats:

I find the open-pore black ash wood much nicer than the CF trim.

I sat in a AMG GT 63 demo car inside the showroom and the seat felt very firm, within time my back starts to accommodate the longer I drive the car. In the Merc, it's automatic and adjustable, unlike the one in the Ferrari.

Same story with the 812 SF bucket seats vs Comfort seats.

I do not regret getting bucket seats in the 812, they hold me in one place and I don't get thrown around while pushing the car in sharp corners and with the E63 having 4Matic+, it urges me to push even harder.

The E63 may be a keeper, I already am in love with the W213's interior and the way it drives with 4Matic that doesn't feel like an AWD car at all.

Mark my words, the next E won’t have a star on the hood anymore. Explanation of Mercedes-Benz : “hardly anyone bought the more classic/luxurious version of the W213, almost everybody went for the AMG/Avant-garde line”.
