E-Class W212 [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W212) Facelift

The W212 and S212 Mercedes-Benz E-Class series is the fourth generation of the E-Class range of executive cars which was produced by Mercedes-Benz between 2009 and 2016 as the successor to the W211 E-Class. The body styles of the range are either four-door sedan/saloon (W212) or a five-door estate/wagon (S212).
The coupe and convertible facelifts are just pure winners for me this time around. They're even helping me warm up to the grille on the sedan, even if it is still very awkward and convoluted looking to me right now.

The grille on the Sedan is just so terrible and ill-fit. Seeing it next to the Coupe makes it looks even worse. I don't know why they gave the Sedan a rounder and more friendly (reminds me of an M-B Van) grille and the Coupe a more angular and sharp one (should be the opposite if anything). Also, 1-Bar for the Star grille is a must for an aggressive and sporty look, otherwise it gets that "Van vibe".

So on the sedan, Luxury is my fave grille, followed by E 63. The 'sports' grille on the standard model is a turd. Taste being subjective and all.

The coupe has totally grown on me, looks fantastic in this pic, I want to see it in white, or black.

I come to the conclusion that the overall E-Klasse Facelift has been a very good move of M-B. Accept for the sportsgrille on normal E-Sedan. On the AMG even the sportsgrille (one bar) looks good.

The Coupe, both AMG packed sedan and coupe and specially the E63 look now considerably better. The coupe now has a much stronger vibe.

This is the route to follow.

AMG has been conspicuously missing from the coupe lineup. It had been rumored early on that this was due to a Black Series coming to that lineup. I have not heard that reiterated since.
Did I read somewhere that the Coupe will also be coming as an AMG 63 now ??

Ah, I actually love it! The rear is a massive upgrade IMO. Add the luxury grille though, and it would much better.

That grille on the E sedan is going to take some getting used to. I still think the coupe and convertible and the E63 look better than the regular sedan/wagon.

Again, I really don't believe these photos are doing the front end of the E justice. In real life the front end of the vehicle looks quite short and fat, giving it a gravitas that will work well with the aggressive headlight treatment and sports grill.

It's as confused as its license plates. German plates in the front, Cali plates in the back (I know it's a Euro spec. demo for the US, but still).
Still not digging it.

This is gonna look so dated so soon.

This makes the car look like a very basic Sedan. The rear lights IMO looks less "sporty" than the previous ones, and the elimination of the Ponton crease takes away a lot of the "balls" from the design.
