I saw my first E Estate today. I couldn't get a pic but it was in this Red Bull (sort of) blue, I don't know the name. It looked very pretty.

Probably that color posted by @WAND above. Very nice looking color in real life in the sun.

Some video on the E-class Estate All Terrain. Hope they use different trim on the bumpers to make it look different to the standard estate.

Possible Mercedes-AMG E63 Black Series spied
It’s been a while since Mercedes-AMG last had a Black Series in its lineup but a new one could now be brewing.

A prototype for AMG’s new E63 Wagon is featured in this video from YouTube user walkoART – Videos, but the tester is sporting some modifications that suggest it may be for an even more extreme version of the upcoming car, potentially a Black Series.

[ The video was posted here: http://www.germancarforum.com/threads/mercedes-benz-e-class-w213.54785/page-116#post-802233 ]

The prototype has much wider fenders front and rear compared to previous prototypes for the new E63 Wagon, shown below. Its wheels are also slightly wider.

It may be that we’re looking an early mule for an entirely different vehicle. Then again, we know AMG bosses are seriously considering adding an E63 Black Series to the lineup. The smaller C63 is also likely to receive the Black Series treatment, along with the new GT sports car.

We should have more details soon as the new E63, in sedan form, is expected to debut late next month at the 2016 Paris auto show. The new E63 Wagon should follow next March at the 2017 Geneva auto show. Any Black Series would likely trail the regular versions by about a year.

According to recently leaked info, the new E63 will come with 563 horsepower and 553 pound-feet in standard form and 603 hp and 627 lb-ft in sportier E63 S trim. Both will receive their power from AMG’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 and divert it to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. Any Black Series would have to deliver well in excess of 600 horses.

I have a feeling the E-Class variants are going to become dizzing in the next 12 months. All the coupe and convertible models with the AMG variants. An V8 AMG E Convertible is going to be sick. Then the All Terrain version and whatever what wide body variant is. The switch to I6 engines will put the E right back into the press/spotlight again once all these variants roll out. I can't image the intense working schedule of an engineer at MB, BMW or Audi. Constant work because something always has a new variant or a redesign on the horizon.

And I hope MB can maintain their standard for build quality and reliability. I am starting to hear some rattling on my 4 months old W205, and the folks over at MB world have been talking about this plus other issues too.

That is a worry. The new C and E just aren't as sturdy as the cars they replaced. They're really light weight now and you can feel it in the doors especially.

The difference is night and day, we have our W211 for 11 years now, nothing has failed, not a single rattle or creak. I will wait and see what the owners of the w213 have to say for the first two years. I hope Mercedes hasn't stretch itself too far. The cars look stunning inside and out, I just hope they are built to the old MB standards.

What issues Derek?
Besides the creaking front suspension struts, rattling from the door, seals, windows, trim pieces on the console and the doors, rattling/buzzing speaker grills, wind noise coming through the front door/window, missing clips to secure the wiring looms, etc. Problems are not limited to US build cars, cars from Germany and South Africa have some of these problems too.

While I am not here to complain about my car or MB in general, these quality issues are creeping up again, which is a worry.
