A-Class [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. It has been marketed across generations as a front-engine, front-wheel drive, five-passenger, five-door hatchback, with a three-door hatchback offered for the second generation, as well as a saloon version for the fourth.
Thanks mate. Will check those forums out.

I'm tempted to change the colour of my order, but I know white will look great and is a safe bet.

LOL at that last vehicle. It's got Distronic Plus, but not Bi-Xenons.

I find white to be a little boring on the A-class, hope they will introduce pearl white as one of the optional colors. More photos from Mercedes Australia.

This is the blue one I sat in at the show. I don't think this color will age well.

You guys in Australia have the A class ...And its right hand drive as SA here we get it in march 2013 why why why

Fortuner, no we don't yet. Those photos were from the Australian International Motorshow where they got some A's in just for the display. They are hoping we have some cars for demonstration only within the next month or two and deliveries will only start in March. I've got a White A250 sports ordered for delivery in March on the basis that if I see the car and don't like it, I walk away from the contract. So i'm keen to see one in the flesh ASAP.

Monster, that blue will be one of those early adopter colours that will eventually die off. I wonder how it effects resale? I know VW is bending over backwards to get rid of all the kermit the frog lime green Sciroccos they ordered. They tried to make it a hero colour, like the blue is for the Golf R, and have failed miserably.

Is the grey car Mountain Grey Metallic?

Blue is never getting old. This blue color is similar to BMW Estorilblue and its just as modern color as it was back in 1996 when it was introduced together with M3 E36.

I think the Estoril Blue is beautiful! The one series with an M Sports pack in Estoril Blue is really something.

MB's 'South Sea Blue' looks a bit too trendy/gimmicky to have longevity. But this is just judging from photos.

hi mr mercedes you from australia by any chance ? I've been pretty keen to see what the a250 in red looks like. not many pics about ! didnt make it to the sydney motor show so not sure what the car looks like in the metal but seems to look good on photo shots. there is a web link on the aussie website thats lets you choose colour and it lets you see car driving around and download wall papers in car colour of choice

thats as close as I've got to seeing one in red ! hehe

Wolf do you know of any A-class forums that I can go to. I would really love to see some real life photos of the A-class in the various different paint colors and am having a tough time finding these. The Konfigurator is not really realistic.

Probably good point the konfigurator prob same as our 360 deg experience and has a computer generated look to it. Real pics always better :)

Hi Ale. Yes, I'm based in Brisbane. Where are you? I also can't wait to see the car in the flesh. If I like it, I'll buy it. Otherwise I'm going to look at demo/used C250 coupes or a 125iM sport. But man are C coupes hard to come buy at a decent price. They're hanging on to their resale values incredibly well. The 125i Msports are overpriced when you compare the equipment to the A250's.

Check these albums out for red A250s (Thanks to Wolfgang).

hi mr merc am in melbourne, same here cant wait to see in the flesh, thanks for the links. I also found this here, which looks a bit of a goldmine especially for the car in red !

http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2012-mercedes-a-class-first-drive/full/

still not seen an a250 in red though !

yeah a c250 would be nice ! but yep not seen many second hand :) I did check out the bmw 125i hatch, low slung, but lacks the pizaz the merc appears to have. plus the 125i especially m version would end up over $10k + more expensive to try to match the spec level on the a250. and a250 is very heavily specd as standard for us. theyre calling it the a250 amg sport and really only thing I'd add to one as standard is the command system which gives uprated stereo, sat nav, dab+ radio.

re paint colours I'm always nervous to pick colours without seeing in person. or if have to choose think some of the more standard colours are a better pick hence am thinking red :)

Great link! Externally the 250 sport will be pretty much the same except for the red srtripes front and rear, which will barely be noticeable on a red car, the blacked out side mirrors and different alloys and grill.

You and I appear to be in the exact same situation. I was so tempted by a 125i M sports in Estoril Blue because I could get the car immediately, but even after I specified an A250 Sport with all the options' Command, AMG Exclusive and Driver Assistance Package ,it would still be $10K cheaper than a BMW with much less equipment. Furthermore the interior of the BMW just seemed to lack the WOW factor the Benz appears to have.

What is making me nervous though are the extremely disparate reviews, with some complaining about high levels of road noise and a ride that is borderline harsh. But it seems that this is the case of vehicles fitted with 17 or 18 inch runflats. So i've put the question to the dealer if our A250's will come with runflats or standard tyres. If I recall the spec sheet at the dealership correctly, our 250's are getting standard tyres. I really hope I get to test drive the vehicle before I pick mine up, which will be in Victoria incidentally.
