A-Class [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. It has been marketed across generations as a front-engine, front-wheel drive, five-passenger, five-door hatchback, with a three-door hatchback offered for the second generation, as well as a saloon version for the fourth.
The black looks a bit sinister, the red looks fiery! The grey looked good on the B-class in the showroom! Bah I don't know what to get. Should I stick to the cirrus white? I love white generally.

I would be shocked if even a Chinese Car company released a car with such sloppy and unresolved lines.

After thousands of posts about it, I'm still at a loss.

LOL KA! Settle down, at least people won't have to install their own decals.

I like the white, especially if you're going to get a sunroof ! I'd go white or black. :-) Black is a PITA to clean though.

LOL...hot pink! If only they offered it. Maybe designo has a nice option for me.

Luke, I agree. I've had black cars are they are a PITA to keep clean. White is so effortless.

My car will have the panoramic sunroof which will contrast nicely with the white, as will the black side mirrors.

Sounds hot, if you were desperate to try something new, the designo magno mountaingrey could be cool. I love matt colours.... but you can't go wrong with white.

I saw an SLS in that colour. It looked brilliant. Problem is you need a specialist paint repairer to touch up any minor scratches, which are inevitable on an everyday run around car.

mr merc go the white, one thing always believed go with your favourite. and mercs do look nice in white. a250 looks pretty nice in white too !

ps just wondering is the a250 released as such anywhere in the world ? or is it really only next year for release ? curious if we have any owners as yet ..someplace :)

It was probably magno alanite. It's really nice. Just before the Euro crashed, we told a friend of mine, who's a sales person in Germany for Merc that we'd take the SLS they had in Alanite if the Euro was on par with the franc. A week later it happened ! It had a brown leather interior. Amazing. We didn't take it though.... Unfortunately, all the uncertainty made us uncertain !

yep dealer I spoke to said the matt finish usually costs about $8.5k option on mercs so a bargain at $2.5k on the A series. but yes would be a very costly paint job for any repairs I would say. the sls looks a beauty indeed !

It is a bargain on the A, though I doubt you'd be able to give 'The Touch up Guys' a ring to come around and do some repairs if your wife had a little graze on a shopping trolly! lol

Ale, I believe first deliveries of the A250 sport will start in December, so we should have some photos soon.

oh yeah definitely would be a tough choice the usual scrapes tend to pick up in ownership.

wow thats a couple of weeks away ! my dealer suggested cars might be in the country at dealers for training in oz in december. I hope that means get to drive one as well :)

Sorry I should have qualified that the deliveries start in Europe in December. I was told we would have A's to test drive sometime in January. I'm really looking forward to it (December or January). I hope they have some A250 Sports available.

I've already seen quite a few A-Class around here ! Someone came to my company with one the other day, and there is another parked down the street.

I never understood why they charge extra for the matt paint, when is much less labour intensive than regular, gloss finish. You skip the finish sanding and polish completely.

Regards!

I think it's to cover the development costs of the paint. I remember reading years ago how they were developing the paint so that it looked matt, but would act like a gloss, in terms of washing etc.

Not sure, I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure it's a different type of paint.

As far as I know, is the same clearcoat but with added matting agents. But of course, the materials and industrial process at auto making can and probably is different to whay I know.

Regards!

My decision process was:
Scratches/repairs are my insurance's problem..but afaik, matte paints can't go through tunnel car wash, and i won't be arsed to hand wash it :).
