Flat crank vs 90-deg crank.

The new flat crankshaft engine has a more agile throttle response and a high torque at low speeds. As Rolf correctly said the engine sound will be different on the 90-deg crank. A friend drove the car in Germany last week and he is still smiling

Surely a flat crank should have less torque at low engine speeds but better torque at high engine speeds?

I am not sure I would use those words exactly. 3.4s 0-100 is quite behind the 2.9-3s supercar average. But then again, probably hard to do much better than that on a front weight biased car (What is actually the best time for a RWD front engined car?). 5.4s 100-200 is pretty good, the same as the GT2RS actually. At the same time, though, if you compare it to the claimed 4.2s for the 765LT, it's pretty far off the top of the segment.
