How do you make the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series even more popular? Right, you set up a limited edition.

So we have now received the first pictures of the so-called Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series special model "P One Edition". This is a limited edition based on the GT Black Series and is reserved exclusively for customers of the Mercedes-AMG ONE. AMG ONE customers can get the GT Black Series P One Edition for a surcharge of 50,000 euros. Why do only AMG ONE customers have the opportunity to order a "P One Edition"? According to our information, this is a special offer consolation for the AMG hypercar customers because the delivery of the ONE had to be postponed again and again.

Unlike the "normal" Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, the "P One Edition" comes with other design elements in the interior and on the exterior. The special model is adorned with a striking foiling with stars in silver-black, which move from the front towards the rear. Also new are the blue trim elements on the 19 and 20 inch rims in 10-spoke design and on the side skirts of the vehicle.

The use of blue elements continues in the interior. Orange is used as the exclusive contrast color in the normal Black Series, blue is used in the special model. The AMG bucket seats made of carbon (not available for the USA, Canada and China) combine low weight with optimum lateral support. The Black Series is available in the USA, Canada and China with AMG performance seats as standard.

50K for blue stripes and bunch of stars at the back? Has Mercedes gone even crazier than Ferrari?

You can buy a base model E-class for 50K Euros, its f&cken crazy for stars and stripes in an ugly bubblegum blue.

Welcome to supercars in 2019. Even Aston Martin now has a crazy list of alcantara and carbon fiber options to bump up the price of their cars.

Exclusive special model for AMG hypercar customers for only 50,000 euros!

The AMG GT Black Series special model “P One Edition” is only offered to customers of the Mercedes-AMG ONE who only have to pay an extra charge of 50,000 euros for the special model. To avoid any misunderstandings: the 50,000 euros is not the surcharge for the edition, but for the entire model - provided you have previously ordered an AMG ONE. For the exclusive group of customers, the special model is literally a consolation, especially since the delivery of the hypercar has always been postponed.

That's a great deal and should be a no-brainer for AMG One customers. The downside is that ugly rear star livery thing. But hey, it's GT Black Series for 50k! You can wrap it later on.

Seems like a better deal than the 997.2 Turbo S "918 Spyder" edition. I think you had to pay full price for it.

I suspect there will be more delays, and the AMG ONE will not start to be delivered in 2021, but later.

Is it not available in one solid color, carbon fiber and all?

Affalterbach. Just around one week after its world premiere, the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series (combined fuel consumption 12.8 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions 292 g/km)[1] can already be ordered from authorised dealers at a starting price of 335,240 euros[2] . During the development of the new flagship model in the GT family, the engineers in Affalterbach pulled out all the stops in their design expertise. The results include the most powerful AMG V8 production engine of all time, combined with a highly expressive design, the most sophisticated aerodynamics, the most intelligent material mix and the most thrilling driving dynamics. With an output of 537 kW (730 hp), the new super-sports car embodies the brand's traditional roots in motorsport to the ultimate degree – together with a design directly derived from the current AMG GT3 racing car. The special AMG magma beam paint finish is reserved solely for the AMG GT Black Series, and can be ordered as optional equipment.

The new V8 engine with a flat crankshaft develops 537 kW (730 hp) at 6700-6900 rpm, and makes a peak torque of 800 newton metres available at 2000-6000 rpm. It lends the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series a completely independent character and enables a particularly impressive performance: the two-door vehicle shoots from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and to 200 km/h in under nine seconds. The top speed is 325 km/h.

The similarity to the AMG GT3 and AMG GT4 racing cars is visually and technically stronger than ever before. As well as the new, considerably larger cooling air intake of the AMG GT racing car, another direct derivative from motorsport is the new carbon-fibre bonnet, with two large exhaust air outlets made from black-finished carbon surfaces. The large outlets guide the warm air, which is fed from the diagonally positioned cooling pack, out of the engine compartment. This technology increases the overall downforce. At the same time, the air resistance is reduced and the air mass flow for cooling the engine is optimised. The bearings on the upper and lower wishbones of the rear axle also come straight from motorsport. Their design means they have no play, which means toe-in and camber do not change even under high loads. The AMG GT Black Series therefore allows for precise steering, gives clear steering feedback and thus delivers better cornering performance, too.
