GT (C190) [Official] Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series

The Mercedes-AMG GT (C190) is the first generation 2-door sports cars produced by Mercedes-AMG. Body styles: C190 (coupé), R190 (roadster). It is succedeed by the Mercedes-AMG GT (C192) - coupé, and the Mercedes-AMG SL-Class (R232) - roadster. Production: October 2014 – September 2022; 2021–2023 (AMG GT Black Series; 2022 (AMG GT Track Series; Limited 55 units).
At least they chose to go the route of Cup 2Rs, which will make comparisons, to other similarly shod cars, easier. There was a one second difference between the 991.2 GT3RS (Cup 2R) and the AMG GT R PRO at the ring (Sport Auto). I have no doubt that the AMG GT R PRO (which was tested on Cup 2s) will beat the GT3 RS time on equal rubber.

With 150 more horsepower over the GT R PRO and Cup 2R tyres, this thing should be a monster.

1540 kg DIN is with 90% fuel, so this is about 1545 k...
Its 35kg lighter than both the GT R and GT R Pro, which doesnt sound much when you consider all the Carbon Fibre body panels. It is 70kg more heavier than the 991 GT2 RS but has 30PS (22kw) more power and 50nm more torque, so their Power to Mass Ratios are virtually identical at about 350kw/ton.

1615 kg EU really isn't all that bad for 730 hp and 800 Nm.
I actually think the specs are pretty nice, although a standard 992 GT3 will likely beat it.

What I don't like at all are the busy looks. It looks like a tuner car, and the two tone is fugly....yeah we get it, the car has a lot of carbon. Just paint it next time.

....and which could drive for 10 minutes. LOL, remember that old Top Gear episode with Jeremy and the SLS electric?

It sounds so bad :(. Similar to A 45 AMG sound.

The mule in Nordschleife also sounded like this...so it must be real. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hD1Efonk88

It sounds so bad...
In some scenes it sounds good and some it sounds strange. I think cause of the flat plane crack, has a big difference on the sound of the engine as well. More of a higher pitched sound compared to the bellowing of the GT R and GT R Pro with their conventional cross-plane crankshaft.

In The World Of V8 Engines There Are Two Styles Of Cranks: Cross And Flat. We're Here To Tell You The Difference.
There are two crank designs available when picking one for your next V8 project: cross- and flat-plane. For the most part, cross-plane cranks dominate, especially in American V8 engines, while flat-plane cranks typically show up in high-end Euro exotics and full-on race cars. Cross-plane cranks give American muscle its distinctive rumble, while flat-plane cranks have a telltale high-rpm whine. But, there's more to these cranks than just their exhaust notes.

Flat Plane Crank:

What Is The Advantage Of A Flat-Plane Crank?

Due to their lightweight design, flat-plane cranks have excellent primary balance properties, so there's no need for the large counterweights found with cross-plane cranks. Less weight means less inertia, smaller size, and increased acceleration (revs faster).

Because the firing order jumps from bank to bank, in an alternating pattern, each bank gets equally spaced exhaust gas pulses. The benefit is that the exhaust (headers) can be tuned for optimum performance instead of trying to fix the exhaust gas issues inherent with cross-plane cranks and their firing order.

The Mustang GT350R has a flat plane crank and sounds pretty awesome, it also rev to over 8000rpm, quite a but higher than the mercedes.

Whatever reservations I had are pretty much in the dustbin, big wings and all.

It's also NA, so not hindered by a hot-V turbo setup. I am sure that and OPF are probably playing roles in the acoustic sounding "off."

I think the sound is nice not the same as regular AMG lets see more clips on the sound..

They sacrificed the sound for performance not a bad c...

I disagree with that. Sound is like 50% of the experience.
That's why EVs are so boring. They only have acceleration(to a certain speed).

These cars should be special in every way.

Last CEO speech before he is off to Aston. Great car this, cant wait to see it on the N-ring.

Since Hamilton is Mercedes’ wonderboy shouldn’t they have called it AMG GT Black Series Matters...??
