The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé (X290) is the first generation five-door variant of the AMG GT two-door sports car. Production: September 2018– Model years: 2019–
I will be looking forward to the official presentation of THIS:
Official launch allegedly scheduled for "sometime during the course of Q3/Q4 2025". It should be quite intriguing with its axial flux electric "pancake" motors (up to four of them depending on specification) and in-house developed cutting edge battery tech . Then again, with the short-to-medium term fate BEVs looking quite dodgy at the moment, who knows what lies in store.

Probably just the Turbo S and Taycan Turbo GT. The lower end models are not worth challenging because:
-They have business customers which is a segment that has a glut of cars sitting on dealership lots.
-There is a portion of Porsche customers who buy a Taycan to climb up the waiting list for a 911 GT models.
This is what I understand as well. Two axial flux pancake e-motors in a RWD configuration and a quad axial flux e motor version that tops the line. At least two battery versions as well. Similar to the Taycan, it will allegedly feature a very high level of possible personalization (Manufaktur).
I wasn't aware of this high level of personalization on the Taycan. These interiors always come over as extremely barren and bland, almost to the point of cheap (definitely compared to the Panamera).
But in any case, every high end German car comes with a decent amount of personalization. This is nothing new nor worth highlighting.
Performance division hedges bets on ICE tech, but an “emotional” all-electric AMG is on its way

AMG chief Michael Schiebe is almost certainly alluding to this particular AMG.EA car:
As we approach fall, we should be seeing more spyshots of pre-production prototypes. Even under the camouflage, it can be seen that a number of selected design elements seen on the new AMG GT coupe will be evident on the large electric 4 door GT. Rear haunches, wheelarch sheetmetal sculpturing...
The wheels and Tail Spoiler design on this car don't look good in my opinion but otherwise it's a weapon.
Why can't Mercedes upholster their seats and interior like Brabus? the leather works looks stunning.
Love this back seat

Are you ready to Rocket? The dream is alive and ready for launch.
Design & Exterior. The Rocket Revolution.
Carrying forward the signature Rocket design language, this milestone supercar is a visual space odyssey in every detail – designed to perfectly underscore the thrill of its breathtaking acceleration, the deep growl of the engine, and the sensation of speed permeating through every single one of its unique contours. Beyond performance figures, the BRABUS Rocket 1000 impresses with its spectacular widebody exterior concept. Specially developed carbon front fenders and wider carbon side panels at the rear axle make the four-door coupe 6.7 centimeters wider than the base vehicle.
The superlative begins at the front, where the carbon front apron creates perfect transitions to the wide carbon front fenders. The integrated carbon front spoiler with raised side flaps reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds. Inspired by the design of the original 2006 BRABUS Rocket, the hybrid supercar also features carbon aero-blades integrated around the apron’s large air inlets to optimize the direction of airflow to the wheels as well as the front brakes. Two carbon ram air intakes integrated on the left and right of the BRABUS radiator grill supply the V8 with cold air and, in combination with the red illuminated Rocket Launch Ambience Light, create another unmistakable detail.
Aerodynamics play a fundamental role in a vehicle as fast as the BRABUS Rocket 1000. The rear impresses with its multi-piece carbon rear wing and the BRABUS carbon rear diffuser, designed to perfectly highlight the four BRABUS carbon-titan exhaust pipes. All around the striking chassis, this combination of stylish aero-components generates a significant increase in downforce and thus guarantees a razor-sharp driving experience. Carbon trims on the sides of the rear bumper round off the unique rear view. The final exterior detail is set by carbon side mirror covers.
Power & Sound. Out of this world.
Equipped with the new BRABUS Rocket 1000 4.5-liter V8 increased displacement engine, the combination of combustion and electric drive technology makes the BRABUS Rocket 1000 the most powerful supercar in over four decades of BRABUS history. Together, the two engines develop a system output of 736 kW / 1,000 hp as well as a massive maximum torque of 1,820 Nm. To protect the power transmission components, the torque is electronically limited to 1,620 Nm.
This also makes the BRABUS Rocket 1000 one of the most powerful hybrid cars in the world. From a standstill, the highly exclusive coupe charges to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. The sprint to 200 km/h takes only 9.7 seconds. The 300 km/h mark is reached after 23.9 seconds. The Rocket’s top speed is electronically limited to 316 km/h.
Specially developed and optimized by our engineering team, the BRABUS Rocket 1000 4.5-liter V8 displacement engine produces a peak output of 585 kW / 796 hp and a maximum torque of 1,250 Nm, which is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm. Beyond an extensive range of BRABUS high-performance components, the system features two BRABUS turbochargers generating a maximum boost pressure of 1.4 bar. The combustion engine's power is transmitted via the SPEEDSHIFT MCT nine-speed sports transmission, which can be shifted either automatically or manually at the driver’s leisure via the BRABUS Race carbon paddle shifters at the steering wheel, as well as the 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive.
The hybrid drivetrain of the new BRABUS supercar is completed by the synchronous permanent magnet motor installed at the rear axle. Featuring an automatically shifted two-speed gearbox and a 6.1 kWh lithium-ion battery, this cutting-edge electric motor produces 105 kW / 204 hp. Optimized to run in perfect unison, the BRABUS V8's electronic engine management system ensures a flawless interaction with the hybrid coupe's alternative drive.
The stainless steel BRABUS high-performance exhaust system ensures the right acoustics while perfecting power delivery by reducing exhaust backpressure. Custom exhaust valves enable electronically controlled sound management. In the cockpit, the driver can choose between a discreet whisper in the "coming home" setting or, depending on the selected driving mode, an extremely powerful eight-cylinder sound to underscore your journey across the stratosphere.
Wheels & Chassis. Ready to rocket.
Another essential element of the BRABUS 1000’s unique widebody concept is its wheels. Equipped with extremely wide SportContact 7 high-performance tires supplied by Continental, the four-door hybrid supercar reaches top speeds of over 300 km/h with absolute ease. The BRABUS Monoblock P forged wheels round off the Rocket’s otherworldly appearance, boasting a size of 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear.
For the perfect combination of maximum strength and lightweight construction, the black five-spoke rims featuring an indicated center-lock are produced using high-tech forging and CNC technology. In typical BRABUS Rocket fashion, the signature wheel design also features carbon aero-discs, developed to further optimize the overall airflow and underscore the BRABUS Rocket 1000’s unmistakably sporty character. With the BRABUS SportXtra suspension module, the coupe can be lowered by up to 20 millimeters, depending on the selected drive program.

I love the design of the grille. The car is an absolute monster that deserved to be oned in Germany when you can regularly drive it at helicopter speeds.
The X290 is a very polarizing car. And configuration is EVERYTHING regarding eye appeal (or the lack of).
This particular example is stellar, IMHO.
I eagerly await the AMG.EA electric GT 4 door. Prototypes are displaying proportions that are very attractive. Very sleek and athletic, far less porpoise-like in direct comparision with the X290. Hopefully, M-B designers get the details right.
