You can't blame them. It's a profit strategy. Tweak the ECU and boost, chuck in some ceramics and charge a whole lot more money for the folk who simply have to have the "S".

BMW do exactly the same with the M5.

Not exactly the same as BMW doesn't release a M5 and a M5 CP at the same time as MB does. They release the CP a while after the M5 has been on the market leaving room for current owners to upgrade to CP when the LCI arrives which most M owners do. Which I feel is a much better solution.

I have to say it, but based on the preliminary data of the W213 E63 and next M5, the obvious advantage is for the E63. This car is going to be the one to beat from now on!

But I think a few of us are going to want to finally see an AMG E-Class Coupe.

Timing is irrelevant, they have three versions of M5. Standard, CP and "limited edition" Pure Metal version. Audi has the S and RS. You either want to shell out extra money, or not.

Yesterday and today

Nice comparison. Initially I was underwhelmed by its strong resemblance to the C and S-Class, but over the past weeks the new E-Class is really grown on me. It's the most elegant and best looking E-Class since the W124.

Wow I am totally blown away by this car, it looks awesome. I love the front grill and massive air intakes on the bumper, really looks so mean and aggressive.

Wow. Impressed by the acceleration numbers and fuel consumption numbers.....cylinder deactivation means it won't be consuming fuel like mad when driven gently in the city.

AWD too.

This is the first AMG that is a big enough step change for me to consider replacing my C55 with!!
