E-Class [Official] Mercedes-AMG E 63 4MATIC+ and E 63 S 4MATIC+

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a range of executive cars manufactured by Mercedes-Benz in various engine and body configurations. Produced since September 1953, the E-Class falls as a midrange in the Mercedes line-up, and has been marketed worldwide across five generations.
I don't need to track it. In fact I couldn't tell the difference between an electronic and mechanical
LSD, active engine mounts etc.... I can get a tune for more power for less £ if need be.

Exactly. If you are desperate for more power you can always remap an E63 to be as powerful or even more than an E63s.

^well C63/E63 makes sense to a real buyer though as NTT just pointed out. Not everyone needs the S variant.

I personally find it hilarious that people are crying in this thread about having more choices available to them. The more choices the better, imo.

Same reason why I have ordered a C 63 Coupe instead of the S.

I don't need to track it. In fact I couldn't tell the difference between an electronic and mechanical
LSD, active engine mounts etc.... I can get a tune for more power for less £ if need be.

I used the extra savings on options which I will use all the time. So I think there is an argument for a non track/ race oriented buyer, hence the non S. My take on it.
And then you see a guy on an E63s next to yours and realise that your iPhone 7 is only 16GB.

Congrats! My friend has the C63 -- I've driven it, for a smaller car with that much power, both my friend and I agree it is frightening! He also has a Huracan which is a much heavier car, he says he is more scared driving the C63 sometimes when he guns it haha

A Huracan isn't a heavier car than a C63.

Ok, so you are digging into the S vs RS story. What about the 911 and 911 S? Or the Turbo and Turbo S. Also, some Audi RS cars are going to have the same engine as S cars in the future. Your point here?

Finally, if you are to get pissed off as an E63s owner worrying that your S version won't get noticed, you have seriously shallow "keeping up with the Jones's" issues. Any Mercedes officianado will be able to tell them apart anyway!
Turbo then Turbo s
GT3 then GT3 RS
458 then 458 speciale
Aventador then Aventador SV
RS6 then RS6+
M5 then M5 CP
M3 then M3 CP
GTI then GTI Clubsport S etc

Do you see the pattern ? None of these cars are released at the same time ... It's always the standard version followed by the more powerful focused version.I have no problem with whether the engines are shared or not.Imagine if Ferrari were to release the 458 and 458 speciale at the same time that just wouldn't make sense at all , why would anyone buy the 458 if the speciale is the better car of the two ? So why does AMG do this with the E63 and E63s the weaker and stronger version at the same time. This is a really stupid , just give us a E63 with 612hp than a E63s with 640hp later on.

Sorry that I can't reply to your last part I have no idea who the Jones's are.

But it's got really nice taillights which is about all an E63 will be seeing. BMW, Audi and MB all need to step up their games (the supercar makers too). If I was in the market for a fast saloon an E63 or M5 is no longer the obvious choice. Plus I've heard from many people that the interiors of Teslas though not quite up to Merc stardards, are very good.

P100D does 0-60 in 2.7 seconds in the RAIN, uses no gas, basically drives itself, and goes 500 km on a charge...and all we get in response from the competition is more boost and more gears? They're wasting their R&D money.
If i ever have Pagani, i won't care about a man who is quicker in a $130K Mazda. I have Pagani - he has some electric shit.

Because you can't afford the Speciale.

There are significant engine, gearbox and suspension differences between Ferraris and their top end models which sometimes use high-grade F1 parts - hence why they command a substantial premium.

The E63s on the other hand doesn't have upgrades piston, flywheel or crankshaft. It just has an incremental power increase achieved through software.

Oh that crackle and pop coming out of the exhaust...it's just orgasmic....LOVE IT, inside out...Handsome looking beast on the outside, absolutely class on the inside....To top it off, 612 bhp and a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds... I want all that in my life, RIGHT NOW!!!

Interesting that the official MB trailer has hitherto not been posted...Here it comes

Oh wow. It seems Mercedes has to do it that way since other brands are! I've forwarded your post directly to Dr. Zetsche so he can rectify this issue. I assume he will give firm German smacks across the face to his subordinates for this release error.

A comparison I made:

AMG vs Avant Garde

I cant see any different
Only the rims and the exhaust
And i cant see anything new between this and other amg classes like the c and s
The only new thing here its the black part next to biturbo:ROFLMAO:

The E63 AMG is excellent overall. Some things I dislike are as follows.

Weight of the car is a letdown at 1880kg the car is a heavy machine to turn into corners.

My 2013 RWD E63 weights 1840kg and it feels to heavy as it is.
I know it has AWD which increases weight but i was hoping it would be lighter not heavier than the outgoing model.

I dislike the column shifter I prefer the traditional shifter on the center console.
Still wish it had the Mercedes star on the bonnet.

Another dislike is that the rwd function is only able to be active in drift mode but only when gear box is in manual mode it should also work in auto mode.

Really in 2016 they need a duel clutch transmission wet clutch is dated.

Other than that the car is perfect in every single way shape and form in my opinion.
