XF [Official] Jaguar XF (X260)

The Jaguar XF (X250) is an executive luxury sports saloon car that was manufactured and marketed by the British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Cars. Launched in Autumn 2007 as a replacement for the S-Type, the XF was designated internally as the X250. The X250 was succeeded by the X260 in 2015.
I'm appreciating the interior as time goes on. It's purposeful in its simplicity. I just don't think it looks as expensive as it should.

I agree with Betty the new Jaguar XF is certainly a good looking car, its better looking than the XE in my opinion, the back lights seem better designed and integrated into the overall design and it is better looking also than the german trio, but the interior is the big letdown it just doesn't look posh enough for this class.

I don´t think many here think this car is ugly. It´s not a masterpiece either, but it´s far from ugly IMO. The thing is it´s nowhere near as the first XF back in the day. That design was such a pleasant surprise. This is just more of the same with many details changed for the worse.

I got the opportunity to sit in this car today. In black leather it is very austere but in other interiors its more reflective for a car in this segment.
Rear Headroom and Leg room is improved over the original XF but I cannot help wonder if the new sedan is on purpose to offer an XFL in China like everyone else? The original Coupe look would not mesh well with an extended wheelbase.

How is the interior in person, does it look as cheap and dull as it does in the photos?

I haven't sat in an XF but did get the chance to sit in an XE last week, it's a much better environment in reality than it is in photos, easily as good as the F30, not quite W205, but close, the plastics have good touch and feel to them, the instruments are well laid out, it would be a nice place to sit for a long drive.

You could slap a BMW badge on a the XE and you'd consider it the greatest thing since sliced bread klier. It's a good car but as you're a fanboy of another marque you can't accept it.

@klier oh you´ve been on the XE already? I would like to sit on one to test the interior. Can you ellaborate either here or in a different thread, please?

Kiwi, it ain´t nice to call a BMW fan a fanboy because he does not like Jaguar, when you are THE Jaguar fanboy (and enjoy spreading little pieces of hate to german car here and there). Damn, at least klier is in the right forum. :D:D:D

I am neutral when it comes to cars but I sat inside the XE at the Qatar Show and found its interior to be crap in my opinion. The material quality and general build quality don't come close to the F30 and miles behind the C-class. I sat inside the XE, Lexus IS, Infiniti Q50, Cadillac ATS, BMW F30 and C-class W205 and a number of times i got into the XE to reconfirm my observations and it left me shocked that out of all those cars it was probably as bad as the Cadillac for interior quality (worst). The Lexus and Infiniti had better materials on the center console and especially the door panels. The Jaguar has really bad door panels with hard plastic used for the speaker boxes which you get to always scratch with your fingers when putting your arm on the door armrest. The exterior styling is nice, it's a good looking car in the flesh, especially front 3/4 view, but I wasn't impressed by the rear lights it looked too much like an Audi from the back.

They complain about the poor fit and finish of the dash, with some mismatch in the dash.

If I could, I'd like, agree and "winner" your post, but as one can only select one option, I'm going to like it, Sky.

Thanks Rolf, for me, your opinion is much more valuable than biased magazines or rose tinted glasses fanboys.

Which magazine is it, Sky? Km77?

@Gianclaudio yep, just check the test of the XE and go to the interior part of the review. At the end they have a link that redirects you to a blog of that same page, in which you can find that and several other pics.

Gracias! Yes, I know km77's blog. I really like that magazine, and their pictures, which don't look like photoshop's heaven.

Truth to be told, I'd love to see Jaguar on the level of the Germans, but it's simply not the case, nor will it be the coming decade at the very least. The level of sophistication and technological power is not there.

And I agree with what you said @Rolf, particularly with what you said about the rear of the car. Not Audi per say, but something that could have been made in 1997 or something.

I drive a VW CC and my cars interior looks and feels much more luxuries and better built than the Jaguar.

One thing I´ve learnt about the VW is that the interiors are rock solid. My sister drives a Polo (with the lower level equipment) and even being spartan feels like a well asembled interior. One that could last 10 years without you noticing it.

See there in lies your problem, I'm not in any way a Jaguar fanboy, I like them, just like I like most marques. I've never owned one, but I've owned models from all the Germans (currently own A1 & A6) and most Japanese brands. I won't buy a Jag because there isn't a dealer where I live, this also means I won't buy a Porsche/Maserati/Ferrari or Honda, I can't be arsed trucking cars 3-400 km for servicing.

Klier is very much a BMW fanboy, there is no stronger on this forum. The XE or XF could have Rolls Royce like interior quality and he (along with some others here) would say it was a POS.

Anyway I've sat in it, poked and prodded, and IMO it's a fine interior easily as good as an F30, with better ergonomics.
