E-Pace [Official] Jaguar E-Pace

The Jaguar E-Pace (X540) is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV produced by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) under their Jaguar marque. It was officially revealed on 13 July 2017 and was the second production Jaguar SUV. The car is built in Graz, Austria, by Magna Steyr and from 2018 by Chery Jaguar Land Rover, JLR's joint venture with partner Chery, in Changshu, China.
I love the looks of this car [although if I'm being picky, I'd make it a little less 'tall' to make it look more slinky], but I'm annoyed about the platform and subsequent porky heft. Seems that all the reviews, no matter how they try to spin it, conclude that this car had the potential to be great but is ultimately let down by its weight which dumbs the driving dynamics, throws off the center of gravity and kills fuel economy.

Shame that Jag didn't go a different route. I know they had to go for front-wheel for this and it's easy to pluck a sister platform, but there's no reason for a predominantly front-wheel SUV to be this portly. Missed opportunity, methinks - let's see what and how the new Evoque does when it lands.

I saw this today..can't believe someone actually bought one. It looks like a toy on wheels.

My feeling exactly when I saw it on the road for the first time. The side profile looks like an indian/chinese creature. It is so tall, short and toyish. It's the first time a car looks so bad IRL. You can disagree but it has something from a TATA Nano road presence IMO.

Interesting foresight into the Sister car the Range Rover Evoque.
According to the reviews they prefer the Diesel to the Petrol. And what have they done in the U.K.? Put Diesel on notice. Ouch!
