XE [Official] Jaguar XE sedan

The Jaguar XE (X760) is a front engine, rear- or all-wheel drive four-door compact-executive saloon manufactured by Jaguar Land Rover and marketed under their Jaguar marque for model years 2016–2024 — across a single generation. The successor to the X-Type, it was designed by Ian Callum and launched at the October 2014 Paris Motor Show. Production of the XE ceased in mid-2024.
These new regulation seem to be hitting some manufacturers harder than others. Jag drops their XE S , BMW has also dropped some of their engines M3, M2(N55) M760li.

You're talking rubbish again. BMW haven't dropped the S55. The engine will continue for several years yet in the M4 and in the just released M2 Competition.

What they have done is cease production of the M3 a few months earlier than planned. That's very different to "dropping an engine". I wish people wouldn't post as if they're experts when they haven't a clue what they're talking about.

Some manufacturers are announcing theirs first to get ahead of things because apparently the floodgates are about to open. In the German industry there is a lot of anger. Not just for moving the goal posts of legislation but their demonisation of the Diesel. Still contempt for VAG but also for the EU and our glorious leader. Can't see both lasting long.

The M2 and M4 will be equipped with the non-CFRP driveshaft in order to equip a particle filter that will allow the engine to meet requirements.
They have chosen not to do this on the M3 as the actual model ends production later this year. So it was not cost effective to implement for something for the M3 to sell less units until production end. The grand finale for the M3 was the M3 CS.

You such a bitter idiot that you can’t even read properly , geez what’s wrong with you !?

Huge difference between the N55 and the S55, learn to comprehend and if you’re going to correct someone at least be right. You are always so wrong all the bloody time!

Your post can do without the personal attacks.

So can his posts, don’t you think ? Didnt see you tell him that ...or is saying “your talking rubbish” not qualify as a personal attack....don’t be bias.
Specifically I am referring to this line.

I am also saying this to everyone else, you guys can of course disagree with other members, but please tone it down in the future.

You are being selective ...you shouldn’t have quoted my post if your were saying it to everyone else. You should have jumped in after he had said “ your talking rubbish” that was clear provocation about something shes wrong about.

I get you though and let me not make it a big issue.

Thanks Scott. Yes, I know what is happening. @hovabongZA said BMW were dropping the engine that's in the M3, but that isn't the case. The engine isn't being dropped.

I suggest you read again what YOU posted. You said BMW had dropped the engine that's in the M3. They haven't!!

And what does the N55 have to do with anything?

@Monster is correct. I was responding purely to your post, which was rubbish. YOU calling me an "idiot" is personal.
The biggest mistake I made was reponsing to your post instead of giving you a rating as I always, I won’t make that mistake again. You are an attention seeking troll and I’m going to treat you as such.

You said the engine in the M3 was being dropped. It isn't. You obviously don't like being corrected, so you hit out at me and launched a personal attack, like you're continuing to do.

You still haven't explained what you meant by this post...

Huge difference between the N55 and the S55, learn to comprehend and if you’re going to correct someone at least be right.

Telling someone they’re “talking rubbish” and calling someone an “idiot” are two completely different things.

“Talking rubbish” means the premise of an argument is flawed, while calling someone an “idiot” is quite literally calling someone stupid.

I cannot even....

Where do I start bashing this fugly thing? What to pick without writing a whole book on poor looks? What an utter joke, what a disaster.

Poor Jaguar going down the drain in such a terrible way :(

Interesting that they’re still investing heavily into the older model instead of going all out on a new gen with electrification.

2020 Jaguar XE Spied Hiding Its Facelifted Front Clip
Expect minimal changes despite the full-body camouflage wrap.

Today brings us our second look at the refresh Jaguar has in store for its XE sedan. Like the previous shots from the end of August, this test vehicle is awash in swirl camouflage save for the roof, however we still believe the extensive wrap is really a red herring. The updates appear to be concentrated on the front fascia, where we can see slightly smaller intake openings at the corners. Redesigned LED headlights are also hiding under the wrap, but that’s likely the extent of the changes in front.
The rear could also sport a redesigned set of lenses for the taillights, but if Jaguar has any changes in mind for the rear clip they must be quite minor. Body lines appear the same as compared to the current model, but the empty exhaust cutout on the right side is a bit of a mystery. We observed the same thing on the previous test car; it could be a placeholder panel for a soon-to-come production part, or perhaps Jaguar has something else cooking in the performance department.
We haven’t heard a single thing on powertrain changes from our inside sources, save for talk on a mild hybrid system that could come later on. Despite the larger bumper cutouts with the possibility of quad exhaust tips, there’s still no indication the automaker is planning a higher-performance XE SVR variant. Aside from the ultra-rare XE SV Project 8, the XE S with its 380-horsepower (283-kilowatt) supercharged V6 is the hottest compact Jag you can get, but that might also be changing with rumors that Jaguar will be dropping the V6. Other power options currently include a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 296 hp (222 kW) and a 200-hp (149-kW) version available outside the United States.

Similarly, we haven’t heard anything revolutionary on interior changes outside of typical mid-cycle refresh bits. An improved infotainment system and some new semi-autonomous tech could be part of the refreshed sedan as well.

Right now, our sources are saying the facelifted XE could appear at the Geneva Motor Show in March. A reveal ahead of that event, however, wouldn’t come as a surprise to us.
