Well damn. Finally some sense. Only took 30 years. Now watch the sales of the manual version outnumber the automatic 3:1

These days "limited" doesn't mean much. It could be 500 units of the coupe. 500 units of the cabrio. Then 50 units of a reskinned variant. Then in 3 years, 1500 units of facelifted variant.

Exclusivity used to mean something. Now it's an illusion.

Those are still very exclusive numbers. Only 500 units of brand like Ferrari is still exclusive to 99% of the people above ground.

The point was the exclusivity is a perception if you only look at one variant, but in aggregate including all variants, the number is 3-5 times greater.

It would be like Mercedes saying, the C63 saloon is a limited production car. But there's the the estate, coupe and cabrios.

This is not a criticism that's exclusive to Ferrari. There's a running joke that over the past few years, in some markets Porsche have sold more GT3, Turbos, GT4, Spyders and ST models than Carrera and Carrera S.

The watch markets have similar dynamics. This is why savy buyers and collectors buy older watches. They were truly limited - the owners control the markets. Newer watches are sold in high or vague quantities - the manufacturer control the market.

A Ferrari is still a very exclusive car tho, that is the point. Even if they build multiple variants of the same car, we're still talking a few thousand units vs millions of cars sold every year.
