Range Rover [Official] Gen 5 Range Rover

The Land Rover Range Rover, generally shortened to Range Rover, is a 4x4 luxury SUV produced by Land Rover. The Range Rover line has been in production since it was launched in 1970 by British Leyland.
"Minimalism" is becoming a bit of a "catch term" with regard to automotive design-but man, when I see exercises like this Range Rover, the Rivians, the Lucid and the Polestars, I get a comforting feeling that all is well in automotive designdom after all. Hopefully, should an XJ sedan have a future at JLR (it should be "LRJ"), I hope that its designers will adhere to this path.
The XJ's cancellation makes you think if it would have been on a par with the same level of sophistication as the Range Rover?

Of course it wasn't that's why they cancelled it. An EV XJ with this level of execution would have been a segment busting vehicle. The EQS would have been instantly run off the road. Damn I wanna see what the new XJ looked like.

Don't know how big that dude is, but the car looks absolutely massive next to him, lol. But boy is it pretty or what?!

Looks a lot bigger than an X7.

Why is that?

Not sure what the exact reason is. It ranges from compliance/emissions to chip shortage to a defect, but MBUSA won't be importing any V8s for the 2022 model year except for the S580 and S580 Maybach. V8s are supposed to return for the 2023 model year. Oh and the SL55 and SL63 will 2022 model year cars also, so for 2022 MY it's S580, S580 Maybach, SL55 and SL63.

WOW. Look at this fcuking truck man. For me this #1 on the market. Period. G63, Urus, Cayenne Turbo GT, Escalade, DBX, XB7 are all fighting for second or third place.

Aout the looks also in each segment. The Current Rangee Sport, Evoque, Velar.

Starting with the X1, X2, GLA I really don’t get how they are finding their buyers.

If Land Rover would be clever they would make a BEV Evoque with dedicated platform, than Germans would be done, except Porsche of course.

Here just what I mean where Range Rover begins with thieir Evoque and what I see now crossing the street…

Perhaps a bit out of the Range Rover context-but still relevant regarding the future of the large electric SUV/SAV:

The future appears quite bright to me. German manufacturers will have to up their game considerably. The world will not wait for them.

A 40000€ FWD Manual slowpoke vehicle with not so good rear-seat space and practicality is not everybody´s cup of the tea.

When you put a stronger engine, AWD and a posh interior in the Evoque, then you have arrived in pricey spheres.

The vast majority of people don't need AWD, FWD and posh interior makes a better city car IMO.

A provocative post mmmm, what are you comparing the Range Rover with this?
That you publish a terrible photo of a dirty and super below basic X1 with 12" wheels, does not change anything, it is still one of the best-selling SUVs, becoming at some point the most sold in Europe, very popular wherever you look and obviously a very attractive one with the right minimum spec

Nothing provocative in it. I said it was an istant pic I just took in that moment and the mayority of them here in Spain are looking like that.

With all respect, but there is no trim that could change minivan turds as the X1 and GLA to something good looking. I know both are more prectical than the Evoque but then we have another eyesore X2 with same X1 stoneage interior. If you compare it you can go up to X5/X7 same with GLE and GLS, designwise is a mess compared to Land Rover or even Volvo.

All I mean that the Germans need pressure to design a good looking SUV, for now they only have the G-Class and Porsche that plays in their own league anyway.

X5 and GLE are right up there with the best looking SUVs in their class. On par with Range Rover Sport and definitely ahead of XC90. These are two very well resolved and appealing SUVs.

Almost all the details are lost, in this model especially, those that make it special and we have seen all of us, it is a large black mass that can also be generation 4
I agree. Looks good but that treatment blunts the details.

Well, for once the Evoque in base version with standard wheels doesn’t look that impressive either.

Add the typical Range Rover bad reputation for reliability and I think you have at least part of the explanation.

Really X5 and GLE better looking that the XC90, are you blind, the XC90 is a really good looking SUV.
