Hilarious waste of resources... After they've already had their second try at the Ring.
Realistically, this kit has to add about 100 kg of downforce at 250 kph to go quicker than ZR1 (maybe even quicker than stock GT3 RS). Meanwhile, all Corvette really needs to do to reclaim its spot is to tidy up the driving part. No engineering necessary.
Also, where was all this effort when Ford GT was around?? That was actually an upgrade worthy platform and they never did anything cool with it (besides track-only specials). But here we are throwing $$$ at a Mustang.
If 2016 Ford GT had the downforce of current Mustang GTD, it'd be capable of 6:42 with Cup 2 R, possibly even sub 6:40s with ace driver. It would easily beat the very best Porsche has to offer.

Max Verstappen at the wheel would have been enough for a new record. Maybe next year when Ford is RB engine supplier.
