Love the part on the ergonomics :eusa_clap. Still don't like the front end styling but this is truly a high performing car.

he was truly in shock while driving this car :icondrool wouldn't be surprised he bought one, if only to spite james hehe.

If i was ever to spend this exuberant amount of cash on a car, it would be between this and the Aston Martin DBS. A difficult and financially castrating decision.

An utterly predictable and unsurprising result; I especially love the way in which he criticises Ferrari's earlier attempts as crude and incompetent.

Has there ever been such a thing as a 'bad' Ferrari? *

(*Rhetorical question: please do not reply with intricate details of the flaws of previous Ferrari's).

Looks much better then I thought first…would love to see this car in reality though. But this is a real Ferrari again! And you're right Merc…the 612 is the most bad looking Ferrari in the current production line.

 The 2 newest dream machines alongside each other.
The SLS AMG was introduced locally (RSA) last week, local journalists raved about the good steering @ Kyalami :t-drive:

So guys..... is the weight of 1380 kg EU weight or DIN weight?
Or better, what I really want to know: what car weighs more, this Italia or a GT2 RS?

In the Italia press release, the call the weight of the car the 'dry weight'.
In the GT2 RS release, they mention 1370 kg 'with all fluids'

:t-hands::t-hands::t-hands:

The 911 GT2 RS is lighter than the 458 Italia.
458 Italia: 1380 kg (Dry Weight) (DW)
911 GT2 RS: 1370 kg (Curb Weight) (DIN)
458 Italia Curb Weight should be about 80 kg more, it is slightly lighter than SLS AMG.

Curb weight of the 458 is around 1530kg in the lightest configuration. Some swiss mag measured another 458 at 1590kg.

SLS weight in tests is usually in 1650-1700kg region.

Clarkson: "You know where you are, but you don't know how fast you're going"

Sounds like physics to me. Perhaps the car was actually made by an engineer :D

Damn, Noah of GDC is on a roll. First he got the 599, now he's got his hands on one of the first 458's in the country.
News from Gotham Dream Cars BOOM: The Ferrari 458 Italia is Here.

I think I spotted it today :D. I'm not sure if it is Gotham's but normally their cars have plates from FL or MA. Oh and the wheels are the same along with the red painted brake calipers:

Nothing says you're going to be one of Ferrari's finest customers better than crashing a brand new 458 Italia right outside the firm's plant in Maranello only 24 hours after buying the supercar (according to the person who taped the video). Follow the break to watch the film showing the 458 Italia revving its 570HP 4.5-liter V8 one day and making love to a tree the next.

Ferrari investigating 458 Italia fires

There is no doubt that the Ferrari 458 Italia is hot, but the Italian automaker is looking into whether the sports car is a little too hot. Following several 458 vehicle fires, Ferrari is investigating its latest model for a possible safety defect.
Several images of flame-ravaged 458s have hit the internet over the past several weeks, prompting Ferrari to officially look into the matter. No word on what might be causing the fires, but Ferrari says it is taking the situation very seriously.
“The company is currently investigating the particular incidents in which cars have apparently been involved in a vehicle fire, and it is currently treating these as separate incidents,” Ferrari said in a statement.
It remains to be seen if government agencies such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will get involved, but we have a feeling we haven’t heard the last word on the tale of the flame-broiled 458s.

Thought so;)

Insurance frauds?

Oh, well... you know what I think about exotic cars catching fire.

A black 458 has been terrorizing my neighborhood for weeks now, but I can't seem to catch it :(.

But here's Top Gear's Italia roaming the streets of NYC along side the SLS (and the GT3):

Same Italia I spotted getting a ticket :D:

Another shot of it, in a different part of the city:
