M6 [Official] BMW M6 Gran Coupe

The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2019 (with a hiatus from 1990 to 2004). Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. An M6 model was built for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production of the M6 ended in 2019 and it was replaced by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) in 2019. Official website: BMW M

The M6 version of the Gran Coupe has rekindled my affinity for the 6 series cars. My opinion of the car often swaying back and forth, the M GmbH treatment appears to make the cars "just right" for my visual enjoyment. Perhaps it is the increased width/track and lowered height that lends to the cars' impressive stance.

I am old enough to recall my boyhood enthusiasm regarding the introduction of the Jaguar XJ6 back in 1968. It was such an incredibly "swoopy" sedan. In a way, the M6 Gran Coupe seems to now push a similar button.

It shows there is demand for sporty luxury 4 door sedan that are lower and wider. Why can't BMW build a sporty 7 Series, just as the E38 was?

Until the 4-Series and the M variants appear, the M6 GC is the hottest BMW in production IMO.

Hopefully someone...somewhere... will order this thing through BMW Individual and get it in Techno Violet.

I love how BMW keeps churning out amazing looking wheel designs. I want to see those M6 GC wheels on an M5.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
