M6 [Official] BMW M6 Gran Coupe

The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2019 (with a hiatus from 1990 to 2004). Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. An M6 model was built for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production of the M6 ended in 2019 and it was replaced by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) in 2019. Official website: BMW M

Power bumped to 754 bhp
A BMW M6 Gran Coupe finished with a Java Green exterior paint scheme has received a series of tweaks.

Back in June we saw the M6 GC with adarker shade of green and now another car featuring a Java Green hue has emerged. As you would expect, this is one of those colors available only through BMW's Individual program and according toBMWBLOG it costs somewhere in the region of €5,000 in Europe. It's not just the paint as the car has also gone through extensive changes, including a Manhart carbon fiber hood and a Kelleners carbon fiber front splitter.

It comes equipped with M Performance trunk spoiler, rear diffuser and mirrors, along with a titanium exhaust system (with carbon fiber tips) from Akrapovic, while inside it gets M-branded metal pedal set, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with Performance display. We saved the best for last as the twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter engine has been upgraded from 552 bhp (412 kW) to a massive 754 bhp (562 kW).

Heavily modified BMW M6 Gran Coupe in Java Green looks like no other

BMW M6 Gran Coupe upgraded to 800 HP by PP-Performance
Can hit 203 mph
German tuner PP-Performance is presenting an upgrade package for the BMW M6 Gran Coupe.

Described as being the fastest 6-Series in the world, PP-Performance's M6 comes with a significant bump in output from 560 HP (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) to 800 HP (588 kW) and 950 Nm (700 lb-ft) squeezed from the same V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine. The massive power hike which costs €14,999 (without VAT) was achieved by installing bespoke downpipes, BMC racing filters, an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system and also through some electronic tweaks.

As a result of this huge bump in output, the yellow/green BMW M6 Gran Coupe seen here is capable of hitting a top speed of 203 mph (328 km/h) whereas the stock car is electronically limited at 155 mph (250 km/h) and 189 mph (305 km/h) when configured with the optional M Driver's Package. Details about the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint have not been provided but it should turn out to be significantly quicker than the series M6 Gran Coupe which does the run in 4.2 seconds.

It is quite bizarre...

Seldom have my perceptions been so "hot and cold" with regard to the BMW M6 GC and its' competitor, the Audi RS7. In photographs, the BMW is usually stunning. The Audi lesser so. Yet "in the metal", the Audi appeals to me more.

Strange...

Arguably BMWs' visually finest 4 door ever. A drop-dead gorgeous automobile, especially in M6 form. And a pity that F06 GCs' remain rare sightings, despite being the best-selling 6 series car. Overpricing and poor marketing may have been the culprits.

I personally sincerely hope that BMW will present a genuinely worthy successor, whether it be an 8 series GC or a 9 series 4 door coupe. Such a car would greatly enrich BMWs' model portfolio as well as automobildom in general.

I’m thinking of buying a used M6 GC Competiton and keeping it long term. So much car for the money and I still think it looks better than the 8er.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
