M5 [Official] BMW M5 (F10)

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
It's a pity it doesn't drive as good as it looks.

Not to say that it is a bad car, but the current generation M5 is no longer the definitive sport sedan - it's more of a quasi sport sedan.

IMO it hasn't been that car since the E39 M5 but what it continues to do is become a better luxury car whilst maintaining a firm grip on the fun element. I reckon if you are looking for the definitive sport sedan you need to look at the up coming M3.;)

On a different subject why isn't there much love for the 19" rims on the M5 as I've yet to see one on anything other than the 20s. IMO the smaller made the old E92 M3 a far sweeter driving car and I can't believe it's any different with the F10 M5.

Nobody was hurt

The BMW M5 Ring Taxi was involved in what appears to be a serious accident on the Nordschleife last week.
Details are extremely limited at this point but Bridge to Gantry says that nobody inside the M5 F10 was seriously injured.
Chances are the high-performance sedan was being driven at a high speed and due to what appear to be slippery conditions (wet pavement and leaves) the driver lost control.

Awesome, thanks for posting!!!

Definitely looks faster than what I have experienced in the F10 M5 myself...

Strange how the climbing revs seem to stutter and are not linear. It must be a faulty rev counter.

Love the F10 M5..

Yeah I noticed that too, well in about a week's time I should be able to check this out for myself. ;)

This is not the standard exhaust. It's a dealer fit exhaust (looks like the M Performance exhaust for the M5, which doesn't come with the Competition Package). As much as I would love the M5 to sound like that as standard, I'm afraid you have to put your hands further into your pockets ON TOP of the Competition Package if you want the F10 M5 to sound anywhere near as good as the E60 M5 sounded.

Nothing like the sound of recorded engine noises in the morning!

I still wonder what the experience would have been like if I had gone the M5 route.

After 30 years, all the king deserve is a new color and some interior tweaks. Must say I'm a little disappointed.

BMW's counter to that claim is when you've already done perfection what else could it possibly need.:D

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
